Topic: Visual Coffee Table Book

Hey gang,

Hosting a party soon and I wanted some advice.
I was hoping someone might point me in the direction of some media I could throw on the tv to play during the party. It's going to be a casual, multi-room, indoor/outdoor affair and music will be playing so people will be coming and going through the room all night. I don't want to put on a full movie, just something with interesting visuals that awkward people can take a peak at in lulls of conversation.

I have seen great trailer/clip compilations on youtube, but they are generally only a few minutes long and I was hoping I could just play something that will run throughout the night. My fallback options will be Baraka, Samsara or a nature documentary.

This is along the lines of what I'm looking for:

Cheers!

Re: Visual Coffee Table Book

I know you said you didn't want a movie, but for my daughter's birthday a couple of years back we had Yellow Submarine playing in the background in the way that you're talking about.  Sounds like it could fit the bill, in terms of being visually interesting at any given moment yet still easy to dip in and out of.

For the next hour, everything in this post is strictly based on the available facts.

Well as the guys said. Sucker punch is made to be a movie runnibg in the corner of a party.

Yellow Submarine and others like it - a "movie" made as accompaniment to an album or something - sounds like a good idea. My personal preference in that vein would be Daft Punk's Interstella 5555.

It's not so much visuals but I tend to have Pandora on a TV when I'm hosting parties. Awkward people could just kind of sit and jam to whatever's on.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I completely forgot about Everything is Terrible, I'm sure I can make a supercut of all these things that will be sufficiently long and interesting.

Cheers.

I'd recommend the Everything is Terrible movies if you can find them, they're wonderful.
