Topic: Hey Brian,... SPACE SHUTTLE!

My brother, dad and I went to see the Shuttle flyover Goddard Space Flight Center (where my dad used to work). We had great view as it flew over Building #8. My brother took pictures, while I took video.

Re: Hey Brian,... SPACE SHUTTLE!

So fucking cool. There have been a couple photos on my Facebook feed from friends seeing her off in Florida or watching her come in at DC, but no video. Thanks for sharing, Snail.

Definitely can't wait for Endeavor to come to Los Angeles, I'm really hoping to be able to do what you guys did and watch in person.

Re: Hey Brian,... SPACE SHUTTLE!

I don't think I mentioned it here in the forum, but back in November I was selected to partake in the NASA Tweetup for the MSL Curiosity launch.  Day one included a tour of KSC, including the launch vehicle on the pad, and inside the VAB, where we had the opportunity to see Endeavor in the process of being prepped for display.

Pssh. Nice haircut and glasses. How are things in 1962?

/not jealous at all

PS—Looks like the prep for display included masking for a repaint. And that can only mean one thing... FLAMES ON THE HOOD.

The glasses I got talked into by an ex, and I hate them.  They're Oakley's and the bows don't hook around your ears, they're just straight, so the damn things are always threatening to just fall off my face.

The haircut is...the best I can do.  I've kept it more or less military style since I got out.  My hair doesn't style very well, besides as you can plainly see, style isn't a big part of my fashion considerations.  Though that picture does make me look fat...

'62's been interesting so far.  We have high hopes for Ranger 4 after some schmuck miss-read his slide rule and sent Ranger 3 hurtling into orbit around the sun.  Sure hope that guy got fired, or at least transfered to some hole designing, I don't know, landers for Mars?  Yeah, like that'll ever happen!

Proving once and for all, that the space shuttle cockpit, does in fact, exist in 4 dimensional space.

Neil deGrasse Tyson is forever moaning that he'd rather be hailing the next era of manned space travel to Mars than romanticize a low-orbit 'truck' with 1970s technology. The "final frontier" shouldn't be in a museum. The last moon landing was 40 years ago this year. It happened before most people alive today were born.

Re: Hey Brian,... SPACE SHUTTLE!

To sum up...  A 747 can carry a space shuttle on its roof, yet they will charge for overweight baggage?

^That's the fascinating in-air copulatory behavior of the nearly extinct Alumatit.  The only known specimens are now in museums.
