Topic: A Collection of Short Films

Hey, since its something we've been talking about a lot lately (Webseries thread and others) I thought it might be prudent to have a place to amass the great short films. So instead of having to dig through the cool vids thread or others we can just come here for some inspiring or interesting short films.

I'll kick things off. Hopefully this works for you folks outside Canada...if not...well...too bad.

Budget was 45,000 Euros, which I believe roughly estimates to about $6 Million.

That really really slick. Well acted; great effects. Storywise, I suspect Rod Serling got there first, but the execution is terrific.

That's pretty awesome, except I kept wondering if it was supposed to be the Middle Ages or what. What Medieval girl ran around in trousers, a camisole top, and boots with short, two-toned hair? Cyberpunk Medieval girls?

Also, that twist was a huge cheat. Like, almost Wild Things huge.

This is what the digital cinema revolution is all about. Holy cow those are some terrific short films.

I'm not sure I ever would have believed that a superhero dolly (they call them dollies, right?) could stand in for real actors in a closeup, but that Knightfall short made me believe that—under the right circumstances—it could work.

One of my favorites is this awesome short from a few years back, some really great dogfighting and robot action. Wish Pixar did stuff like this. Even more impressive, this was done basically almost entirely by one guy, I believe this short got him a job at Weta.
