I get all that, but it's been 30 years, can we please stop treating it like the second coming? It wasn't that great.

Have we progressed to the point as a society where we can finally just move on? Yes, I get it, it's a great movie, it changed a lot of things, and I enjoy it as much as the next guy, but please for fucks sake, can we move on please?

I'm half an hour in and... Teague: Damn you and your pronounciation of Mal!!! My headphones have nearly caught on fire dammit.

It's MAL. M-A-L. Mal, as in Malcolm. As in Mal, Bad...in the latin.

MAAAAAAAAAL.

Fuck.

Yeah, you guys kinda seem to put off some movies because you don't think you can talk for two hours. So why should you? Just talk until you run out of stuff and then say bye.

@Zarban: Yeah, the ending of that shot is probably my least favorite bit of the entire thing, I had a really cool concept when I started, but I suppose you wouldn't believe me if I said studio intervention screwed me over, but the same general concept happened. Although it will make more sense once the sound is in there, we did manage to salvage it a bit.

And yeah, Ron is awesome, in his off time he's a security dude at my campus, and I only found out he was an actor after (and because) SuckerPunch came out. tongue

EDIT: Maybe we should have little dumpling episodes of DIF that aren't commentaries, but twenty or thirty minute conversational reviews of movies. I don't think we'll get around to Sucker Punch any time soon, but it'd be a shoe-in for a conversation like that.

Wasn't there an entire thread devoted to that very concept not to long ago?

It'll get yah man, the only thing keeping me from watching the entire thing again is that my friend just got me insanely hooked onto True Blood, so I have 4 seasons of that to get through first. As a side note: True Blood; fucking aaaawesome show.

Yeah, unfortunately those are the Vancouver Hydro "No Power" symbols that they have on all the support structures under the bridge we were shooting at, and we couldn't shoot the other direction. Although I might go in tomorrow and see how hard they'd be to paint out.

Resume's in our industry should be one page.  Education up top, credits underneath, special skills/comments on bottom.  If you're credits are thin, go ahead and add a line or two describing what you did.

Yeah, I've got my resume up on my site atm. http://www.chriswalker.ca/contact.html

I think it works. Once I get my demo reel done I'll be able to get myself out there a bit more.

Ugh, I hate answering this one...it's technically my demo reel, but I've been treating it more like a short film. The reason that I have the breakdowns in here is that they're required for in order for me to graduate. The most likely course of action for me is to post the short on it's own, for my own gratification, then edit it down to a proper demo reel style, showcasing the actual VFX shots and my work, with breakdowns, and that's what will be my actual "demo reel".

So yeah...

@Squiggly: I'll definitely be throwing it up once I get everything properly finalized with sound. And thanks smile

So this is it, the big one, the project I've been working on for the last 6 months, signifying the end of my tort- education at Vancouver Film School.

It's pretty much completed, I've got about 3 days left, so I thought I'd throw it open to you guys to see if there's any small stuff I've completed missed or just become blind to.

(No sound yet, and color grading has not been fixed yet)

So have at it boys.

Yeah, I excel at nutbariness. I'm probably gonna start actually sending applications and stuff out in about a week or two once I get my demo reel finalized. But I'm starting to seriously consider just taking a while off and step back from all this stuff and let myself recover. Just do some retail work or something. It's starting to look mighty tempting at the moment...

Wow Teague... you got it so backwards there. GoT is the amazing one, Carnivale is the boring one. I think i can forgive you though.

One of the panelists mentioned a blog post refuting the claim of "It's fucking transformers, what did you expect?" Anyone know where I can find that?
