A spammer posted one of these last night, and it sounded like a good idea, but I'm actually going to make you think about it. What album has kept you coming back for more recently, and why? What makes it so lovable?
I've been listening to Exoplanet by The Contortionist a lot lately. I'll admit, I'm a bit biased due to the fact that I know these guys personally, but they're getting to be pretty big, and as a result, their albums just keep sounding better and better. If you're into heavy, technical bands like Between the Buried and Me, you'll love this shit. They spend a lot of time defining their own sound by mixing thick, heavy guitar tones with ambient moments and just incredible lead moments to send you to each end of the musical spectrum without even realizing you made the jump.
Yeah, #9 is what we keep around. We don't usually buy cheap unless it's welfare alcohol for the bad kids who can't afford to get anything good (although I have a friend who swears by Nelson). I also don't drink light rum very often anymore, due to an incident involving my girlfriend's roommate and a severe lack of mai tai mix.
I'm typically a whiskey guy, anyway.
The myspace version of the site still exists at http://www.downinfront.net/myspace/ . You know, just in case you absolutely want to view my cigar-wielding face getting it on with My Little Vayda.
I'll agree with Cruzan being a good one. My roommate picked up a bottle because it was on sale, and we haven't done anything since for gatherings.
Edit: How much does Kraken run?
So, I got you guys a present. It's not quite done, but almost. Here's a sneak peak:
Pardon the track lengths, I actually stopped downloading it at 14%.
This post makes we wish we had some sort of rep system, so I could give you some.
We actually do, but it's turned off.
You know, to keep your e-peens relatively deflated.
It is also an excellent ladies' drink.
I feel like this thread is missing a certain rasta hat.
So, the next feature I plan to add (might take a backseat to the iPhone app should that happen soon) is to allow you to download the episode directly from the app. This will help the app's biggest flaw (which I can't control, sadly), allowing you to more easily jump around a commentary once you've started it. Once you have it downloaded, it should automatically play from that rather than stream it.
Sometime this weekend, there will be a small update that adds in the current play time.
If you could punch one forum member in the face, who would it be.
Can I answer this question too? You know, as the guy who has to fix a certain person's frequent problems.
I did a few fancy tricks to automatically do RSS updates so that Teague would stop breaking the goddamn thing every five minutes. As a result, I think iTunes told me to go shove it and started generating duplicate entries for the feed.
So boot up your podcast player of choice and let me know what happens to the feed, and if anything's wrong, lemme know if you could fix it or if it really doesn't bother you at all.
Oh, to hell with it. POLL TIME.
Goddamnit, Zarban.
*fix fix fix*
Got my first review on the app. I laughed out loud.
"Awwwww it disipointed me I thought u get to watch movies but instead its just a bunch of nerds talking about the movies ugh!!!!!"
Damn it. I tried to outsmart the system to get the validation emails to work, and this is what happens. Changing it back.
My knowledge of how iTunes works is kind of weak. Would that kind of thing link to this particular thing in the podcast? Or just like to the podcast feed? I dunno. I'm all for giving people more options to download this stuff.
You have to develop a website from the ground up to get that kind of treatment.
But yes, I believe there will still be streaming.
Adding them to the home page, brb.
If you're in L.A, I'll accept alcohol as a bribe for making dumb changes to the site next month.
Obviously, you guys should do Hackers.
What a great movie.
Yeah, although I've just been told there may be a mac temporarily in my future. I just can't win around here.
On another note, update inc.
There will definitely be an iOS version at some point. I just have all of the tools to develop an Android app readily available right now.
EDIT: There will be no iOS version until Apple decides to release a Windows version of the sdk.
Hey, cool. I'm hijacking my own thread.
We decided to go ahead and release the app with only limited testing because only limited testing was being done anyway. So, have fun folks. You can find the app by searching for "Down In Front" on your Android phone, or by going to https://market.android.com/details?id=down.in.front and having it download straight to your phone from there. Post any bugs you guys find here instead of littering the market with them. Praise can go to the market, however. I'm a greedy bastard that way.
Lemme know what you guys think.
p.s: Apparently an iOS app may be coming sooner than I thought (which, as of noon today, was never). Details coming soon.
