The kicker is the first two seasons each had at least one episode that showed it had the potential to be a very good series if it stopped messing around with wanker of the week and addressed some of the mythology it had started to establish.

It really wasn't particularly well regarded over here. The first series was a clusterfuck, the second tried to improve but didn't really, the third suprised everyone by being amazing and the fourth came full circle to clusterfuck except with people who used to be in movies popping up.

The thing that pisses me off about Hyperdrive is that it was written by Andy Riley and Kevin Cecil who wrote for The Armando Iannucci Shows and some of the funniest episodes of Black Books and that vastly under appreciated gem on Radio 4 The 99p Challenge.

So it should have been funnier, but I did enjoy parts of it particularly the actor Kevin Eldon being a bit evil and the crew member who got drunk when he thought they were going to die and gets put in a room full of videos of kittens to sober up.

I've not seen the trip but one TV film I did like with Coogan  and was Brydon was called 'Cruise OF The Gods' where they had been on a cult TV show in the 80s and Brydon, now a hotel porter goes on a fan cruise whilst Coogan character stars in a US TV show "Sherlock Holmes in Miami" Worth checking out.

Hyperdrive got a reputation for being really bad which was a bit unfair it had some really funny moments. Not many but enough.

Black Books is fucking amazing. It kinda slipped out when everyone was lamenting the death of the sitcom. It just gets better as it goes along. Beautifully surreal in places.

So it turns out they are not actually Friends In Your Head. I wish someone told me that before the X-ray!

As a mild enthusiast of artificial bodies of water I couldn't have been more disappointed to discover that Reservoir Dogs was set almost entirely in a warehouse.

Why don't you listen to the commentary in this thread from two years ago?

I visited Krakov a couple of years ago and saw where they shot the emptying the ghetto scene. There is (If I'm remembering right) a souvenir shop directly behind it.

Supposedly when asked if the sign could be taken down during shooting the owner asked for an insane amount of money so they just parked a truck in front of it instead.

"God Hates Jimmy's"

Sorry BDA I can tell you poured your heart and soul into that but I don't think I've met anyone who works in VFX who doesn't think along those lines  big_smile

Benedict Cumberbatch is awesome as always and the film did a very good job of not painting wikileaks as heroes or villains, Assange himself does not come out of it unscared however. a solid film thats not going to change movies as we know them but certainly better than the bad reviews it's been getting 3/5

Clear and Present Danger is not a bad film but gets lost in having a lot of different characters to follow resulting in a very slow pace. I actually had to check the time at the 30 minute mark when yet another plot thread was introduced. Whilst Harrison Ford is great in some films his Jack Ryan just feels like Harrison Ford turned up for work where as Alec Baldwins take on the character was much more fish out of water.

Not a bad film just disjointed in a way that works much more effectively in a novel.
