This morning I watched Dark Skies (2013) and it actually wasn't bad. It wasn't jump scare filled and had a couple of scary moments that weren't accompanied by a loud music sting which was refreshing to see.

Look at what I bought yesterday (it's still wrapped in cellophane)-
I thought he'd stopped doing movie reviews as the Nostalgia Critic. Man I missed this. A really cool episode on top of that.
He did but his new show didn't do as well so he brought NC back from the dead. The girl and the black guy are from the failed show. He kept them and changed the format of NC a bit rather than ditch them.
Still avoiding the trailer, but the poster looks awesome.
They are basically the same.
SPOILER
I think that Gibson and Polanski are different stories. Gibson said some heinous things once while drunk. Polanski also did a disgusting thing once. OSC actively and continuously supports a cause that I find despicable. If I buy Rosemary's Baby on DVD, Polanski isn't going to donate his cut to pedophile groups. OSC will use his cut of my ticket for Ender's Game to support anti-gay organizations, and I'm not cool with that.
Exactly! Well put, Doc
Also, my point is why shouldn't Dorkman boycott anything OSC does? It's easy for me for example to say I won't as I am not being directly influenced by his hatred. If he (or anyone) said he hated Scottish people and actively supported anti-Scots groups, I think I'd have the right to be pissed off and not see the film based on his work.
I understand Dorkman's point, though, why should he help line the pockets of a man who publicly and often says his (Mike's) lifestyle choice is wrong? Going by some of the stuff Card has said about Homosexuality (most gay people are the self-loathing victims of child abuse, who became gay through a disturbing seduction or rape or molestation or abuse) I totally understand why people are boycotting him and this movie. And I support it, too.
Just got back from a midnight screening and loved the shit out of it.
I'm seeing it tomorrow (Friday). I think this will split people, I feel another Iron Man 3 type thread coming our way.
Any idea what the topic is for next week? That is when I'm hopefully available but I'll hold off if it's something I know nothing about
The words 'winner' and 'nominee' make no difference but the words 'Academy Award' or even 'Golden Globe', depending on the movie, do.
I can't post it but here is a link to the first trailer for the latest Pegg/Frost/Wright movie, The World's End. It seems to give away a lot- http://video.uk.msn.com/watch/video/the … r/2t5faj5e
EDIT, it is now on Youtube, officially-
Oh, well, if you have a Scouser, I'm fine then
I'm up for being in one for sure but it won't be this week, I'm afraid. As long as you guys don't mind having a Scottish accent in the mix
I think there was talk of a spin-off at one point but I'm not sure it's happening now. I think it's better they stay recurring characters so they don't outstay their welcome. I love Strax but he is rather a one-joke character and that would get boring every week.
I didn't think Journey to the Centre of the Tardis was all that great. The latest episode was fun, though
Oh, they do a bit of Weisz swooning, if I recall correctly. It was just last night but it was late and I was sleepy. So, I forgets.
The way Mama moves creeped me out as did the first time we see the kids in their feral state but apart from that, I agree. The film isn't that special. I did jump a couple of times listening to it through headphones, though
What, we're going to pull each other's hair while crying for our parents?
Pffft, I do that every weekend anywa....wait, what?
I was not talking about you, Pav. Although I did badmouth you in the chat of the live show tonight
Just watched Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters starring Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton's stunt doubles. I like that it was rated R and was gory enough but the action was poorly directed and the swear words seemed out of place.
I much prefer the story to 3 than the one in 2. I don't really remember what the story in 2 was apart from a bored Mickey Rourke liking birds and hating Tony.
it shat me to tears.
Can't say I have ever heard this phrase before and I can't say I'll never use it in the future.
Ha, ok, that made me chuckle
I heard nothing new... THAT's what I'm sayin' MY GOD how many times do I have to say the same DAMN thing!? This is like a Sam Jackson movie...
Well, the first time you said you couldn't make anything out which is why I asked what I asked. It was a bit confusing.
Also, has everyone in this forum been told they are going to die soon? Almost everyone is pissy and on edge these days. Bloody hell.
You heard nothing new or you couldn't understand what the female voice was saying?
