Have to give me more to go on. Is she too passive? Too feminine? Too stupid? Too not Arya?

also Daenerys and Sansa have really infuriating inner dialogues.
This is a good time to inform anyone that complaining about Sansa will result in very, very long posts from me explaining why you are wrong.
You've been warned.
The Lannisters They didn't get any screen time last week at all, we'll certainly see them this week. What will we see there?
I think it is once again time to let my girl Cersei shine. The Purple Wedding aftermath has to major center points: Cersei's descent into madness and paranoia, and Tyrion's turn into non-sympathetic murderer.
Setting up Cersei's mistrust of the Tyrells and her family puts what little power she has on the line. Tyrion's imprisonment and impending trial put his fate in jeapordy as well. Season 4 can have Tyrion's trial (Martells!!!!!!) and escape towards the end, and Cersei's relationship with Jaime becoming fraught.
Oh, and Trey: it's always safe to go with 'Dany' instead of her full name.
To change gears a bit: what do you guys think of the theory that Jon is Azor Ahai reborn?
I would like a Doctor who is not a white man. On that note, Chiwetel Ejiofor has said he's interested.
they appear to have dropped (at least for the moment) Jorah Mormont's initial mission...
I'm guessing it will be brought up in the finale. Unfortunately that means more Daario, but what can you do.
MAJOR STORM OF SWORDS SPOILERSThe Purple Wedding is just a name used to describe Joffrey's wedding. Presumably because his face goes purple.![]()
Continuing the book spoilers:
And to respond to Trey:
And you're going to regret that smiley face for Rickon's departure when he returns from UNICORN CANNIBAL ISLAND
I'm definitely up for a book-reader thread.
Yeah, I'm not saying people like that don't exist. But I certainly don't care abut hearing their stories.
I maintain that everyone would hate the woman who played Bella, no matter who she was. The character is poorly constructed and any actress would struggle with what to do.
I can photoshop the iTunes artwork if you send me the template. I have CS6 and some level of non-pro experience.
I loved the conversion and the film very much, but I hated the 3D in the Man of Steel trailer a lot more.
Wow. Great work, everybody.
On the 'makes the world less scary' remark: there is nothing wrong with finding comfort in a lie. I don't think the movie condemns or promotes religion. It merely shows it as one avenue to satisfaction.

That's... um... wow, okay.
This is at a real college? As opposed to a cardboard sign taped to an underpass that says "Colege" or something?

I suppose you'll have to decide that for yourself.
It's also very misanthropic to suggest humans are infantile and just want nice stories over the truth, and that rational truth seekers (e.g. scientists) are leading impoverished lives.
Are you saying the film argues that?

Um, what?
This week is about fan films/fan creations. My classmates are apparently really into into Pink Five. Dorkman and Ryan also made appearances.
Jim's response also works.
So what are everyone's thoughts about Gunn going green in support of artists?
I think I learn more from Trey than I do at University.
My film class today spent a lot of time talking about Trey, so the effect is compounded for me.
From what I've gathered, the problem is that if artists stop working right now, other artists will take the jobs. If artists demand reasonable pay and benefits, studios will find someone willing to work for less. There has to be a union before any kind of strike action will be effective.
Eddie wrote:My thing was that I was very much into the story, and in the last 20 minutes it told me thy the story I cared about is not what I should have cared about.
It it's the same thing that happened in the book, then yeah...fuck that shit. I hate that flippin "twist" thing at the end of the book.
I really like the film's ending. The story is about finding meaning and comfort through things like family and religion. The ending of the movie serves that theme by saying that the stories we choose to tell are sometimes more important than the truth. It's not telling you not to care about the story you spent two hours with: it's telling you that you can and should care, despite what you now know.
That's a great post, and provides a good explanation for why friends and I hung out in comic book stores convincing people to order the new Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel books. It felt like we had to put in effort to make sure it got a chance. On that note: please go check out Captain Marvel. She's great. New issue out on March 20!
Also, the post brings up a good point about women feeling uncomfortable in comic book shops. I've been going to the same comic book store since I was 11, but I still get guys trying to explain to me how things work or asking if I just want to know where to find the movie-tie-ins. Women can be and are into comic books. We just have to stop alienating them, both by marketing to them and making them feel welcome.
Just saw this article on Vulture. At least one family is really against their loved one's dying words being used in ZDT:
@Allison: Wow...never heard of Topaz plug-ins before, but those are crazy. I'm thinking I might have to try the 30-day trial, because there certainly seems to be some serious horsepower to those filters. Some look like they'd work really well for what I'm trying to achieve. The cost kind of sucks, so if I can get there some other way, that'd be better -- but I think that barring something else coming up, it might be worth it.
Use it well, my friend. Great power, great responsibility, etc.
If you're going for a subtle effect, putting on heavy Topaz filters is a good place to start.
I loved the characters in the movie. They started out as unlikable (don't get me started on how little I trust people that talk to lone women on dark streets) but I like the way they stuck to their own moral code and grew in the story without changing who they were. I sympathized with them.
Also, I'm hoping that John Boyega (Moses) gets more parts because that guy could really be a star.
Finally got around to seeing BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD a few days ago. If you haven't seen it, definitely check it out.
