So one of my favorite things about FIYH was getting introduced to movies I had no idea even existed but have since become some of my favorites. I think it's about time we carry on that spirit in a more concrete manner.

So I present the FIYH Forum Movie Club!

Here's how this is gonna work. Every week a new movie will be picked by a random member of the group and posted here, anyone that wants to join in, watches, and then we all talk about it (Like we tend to do around here). Sound like fun?

The specifics: I'll post the first movie we'll watch, and then from then on the next one will be picked by a random number generator. How we're going to do this, is the first time you post a comment about the current movie, leave a small note at the bottom with your suggestion for next weeks movie. Each suggestion will be given a number in order of posting, and then we spin a random number generator and off we go. (This is mainly to prevent long turnaround times, waiting for people to respond, this way we can just post the new movie right away.)

Now, rules for movies to suggest... short version: anything you think we should all watch. Long version: Anything you think we should all watch. We have such a diverse and international group here that I know every single one of you has a handful of obscure or lesser seen movies that you think everyone should watch. Well, now's your chance. But don't limit yourself to that, if you have something that you just really have been to get around to, post it, give yourself an excuse. Or maybe you just really really think everyone should watch Star Wars again this week. Go for it. The wheel will choose what it wishes.

RE: spoilers... the new movie will always be posted on the front page at the bottom of this post. If you venture any further beware, thar be spoilers ahead.

~~~~~~
When posting your movie suggestion use the following BBCode and substitute in the info (and incrementing the # from the last person who posted):
[ b ][ color=skyblue ]Week :: 1 :: Name :: Movie [ /color ][ /b ]
For example:
Week 002:: 001 :: BDA :: Attack Of The Mutant Cheeseburgers
Then the next person would post...
Week 002:: 002 :: Andrew Ryan :: Dystopia For Dummies Vol. 6
And so on and so forth.
Well y'all have fun with that.
So then why did you even bother asking if you aren't willing to listen?
And I told you what I saw in it, and you called me drug addled, deluded and hoped I was being ironic.
I'm just being a dick 'cos I can.
I get you don't get it, I gave you all of my reasons why I like it, and you shrugged them off.
If you ask for help and then don't listen and act like a dick "'cos you can", you're just defeating your own purpose.
Not too mention it makes you look like a massive asshole, and further drives me into never wanting to reply to anything you say ever again.
Hey you don't like it that's fine, no one's forcing you. But leave the name calling out of it.
Screw, there seems to be a lot of your problems stem from laziness. Not sure if you noticed.
If that's honestly all you think is there I can't help you.
Personally I find it a really interesting political drama in a dark high fantasy setting, with interesting characters and amazing visuals. The production values are through the roof, the acting is always top notch and the writing isn't afraid to go places most other shows wouldn't.
I will just say, personally I LOATHE reading comment threads on reddit. It's confusing and claustrophobic.
There's no real clear delineation between posts, and having to either scroll all the way back up to the beginning of a thread to twirl it up, or figure out which sub thread of sub thread you're in is a pain in the ass.
Frankly I have exactly zero issues with the forum format, it's concise and organized, and all you have to do is go back a page or scroll up if you missed something.
Just my 2cents.
Oh oh oh, I got this guys.
You are actually a small martian vegetable descended from turnips brought back from earth on an exploratory visit several thousand years ago. You are deeply offended by the mistreatment of your breathen in the making of soups and small dishes as depicted on Game of Thrones. It disturbs and confuses you.
And THAT's why you hate Game of Thrones.
I'm not sure what facebook you're using, cause you can't reply to a single facebook comment and branch off a thread, it's just a straight line down.
So basically what you're saying is you don't want a forum but would rather a subreddit?
Not to play admin here. But if you guys wanna keep this line going, probably best to move it to a new thread. This one's been hijacked and sidetracked enough.
Well it's nice to know this forum still has the ability to go from zero to holy shit in under 8 posts.
I guess we'll always have that.
Yeah, the drops only exist because of the properties of glass from the rapid cooling (high tension surface, lower tension interior). So having any large contaminants that could interrupt that consistent surface would probably impede creation or at least make the drop much more fragile than pure glass.
I could be entirely wrong though.
Oh wow. That one cartoon that's in the thumbnail. I have distinct memories of that one from when I was growing up, I haven't seen it in at least a decade obviously. But wow, that was a weird memory trip.
Oh gods. Forgive me for even coming up with this.
But...
Small drop, inch wide or so mounted inside an arrow head. Basic principle being: arrow head pierces, driving drop either into flesh or near skin. Causing the drop to burst in close proximity or inside an open wound.
Thank you for that.
That's fair enough, if you're just thinking pure bulk "just fill the air with glass powder" that could be pretty intense.
Although if that's all you're going for, I think arrow delivery might not be the most efficient method. Just in terms of man power and supplies to attach each one individually or in small groups to an arrow shaft. I'm almost wondering if something more along the lines of a catapult or trebuchet delivery of a small bundle might be better. Just bind 50-100 drops together and launch that into the mix.
All of this is of course with the caveat that I do think the image of thousands of arrows exploding into glass fragments is ENTIRELY badass, though not entirely practical.
