Fair enough. I would have thought it was obvious that there are some things you shouldn't really say, though. I know 'freedom of speech' and all that but I doubt DiF want or need the hassle.
Where are you from, Lamer?

Hey, dude,I'm neither Democrat nor Republican, just an outsider looking in
Dude, I could tell you the amount of slurs that exist over here that are uttered on a daily basis and it sickens me. Like using a slur when describing going for a Chinese meal and shortening the word Pakistani as a derogatory term. It's used so casually it has become a joke.
And if I had listened to the episode, I'd have known that
Will listen to it tomorrow
Also this:

Ummmmmm.......yes.
I don't see your point.
Excellent, was just making sure. Thanks, man, downloading it now
I haven't listened to the episode yet as I feel as though I have to see the documentary first. Is this correct or can I listen to it first? I know it's not a film-film and don't really need to worry about spoilers but I was just wondering
Jimmy B wrote:The fact of the matter is, that word is offensive. Why stir up matters by typing it out?
So is ''Fuck" and a lot of other things.
Fuck is slang for sexual intercourse, the n-word was created to be derogatory towards a group of people. Slight difference.
Also, I've noticed that despite what you are saying here and in the past, you have yet to type the word yourself. Afraid you may offend someone?
(I'm not baiting you to type the word, by the way, just making a point)
Saniss! How dare you bring this thread back on topic?
Jimmy B wrote:And wrong
From certain point of view
Not from mine in the context of what I meant. I was referring to the Presidential debates where it appeared that Mitt flip-flopped from one sentence to another. It was a joke
The fact of the matter is, that word is offensive. Why stir up matters by typing it out?
The last time I checked, about an hour or so ago, you had a karma of 98 and now.....
Stop being so cool, dammit
I'm not talking about actual racists, homophobes, and misogynists - fuck those guys.
Indeed.
Dave wrote:But there's potentially offence in *everything*. What's the solution - stop all topical conversation, stop telling jokes?
No. Stop believing you can say anything you (general you, not you specifically) want without having to face criticism or pushback. Maybe stop speaking without thinking at least a little bit about the consequences of your words.
This is what I was trying to say but you said it better, thank you Michael.
I want this Die Hard jumper-
And wrong
Everybody is different though, aren't they? Obviously what offends one may not offend another but why should those who find offence toughen up if something genuinely hurts them?
Nowt wrong with being sensitive once and a while
You know what annoys me? And this is not in reply to anyone in particular, just thinking- I hate it when someone says something that is offensive to someone or some people but they (the offended) aren't actually allowed to say so without criticism. Sure there are those who just like to stir the shit and complain about absolutely anything regardless of how trivial but sometimes someone will say something that does hurt another's feelings. We are only human after all and it's not fair to say 'get over it' or 'man up' because I can guarantee 100% that you are not totally immune to such feelings, yourself. No matter how much you claim to be.
Again, not aimed at any one person in particular, just speaking in general
Everyone has their own favourites
They are more a joint second, really. In fact, there is no real order of the five except the fact that Live and Let Die is my absolute favourite. They are all great songs in my opinion

Again, I'm done.
Then I sincerely beg your pardon for misinterpreting your intent.
Accepted. And I apologise for not conveying my point correctly

I find your comments a little childish. It's ok for you to accuse me of trolling, but you don't think the converse is legitimate?
I don't believe I actually personally accused you trolling......
You know what, I'm officially dropping out of this conversation because, quite frankly, I have more important things to worry about.
My top five Bond theme songs-
1. Live and Let Die
2. A View To A Kill
3. The Living Daylights
4. Goldfinger
5. Nobody Does It Better
I guess at this stage in the discussion my point is that there is such an incredible level of ignorance about the basic facts (for example the pervasive belief that copyright infringement is theft, or that content creators own their work), even on a board populated by content creation professionals, that it's hard to have a discussion about this without constantly being bombarded by completely untrue assertions (for example, that the text of a book is like a sandwich in any reasonable way).
I made a comment on the thread about distribution mechanisms, that I did not expect to be controversial, and it stirred up a huge discussion, most of which I interpret as being about misunderstandings of the basic facts.
I'm not sure that it is other people who are misunderstanding the facts though. Don't you think that these 'content creation professionals' may actually know a thing or more about it than you or I?
What makes you the authority?
