Yeah, with Trey, but he buried the lede. This is a world problem, not just movies.

Oh hey image macro of that snow scene I comped.

If anyone thinks anybody's capable of "turning evil" you haven't been paying attention for the last five books.

Aside from legit madness, of which there's been no telegraphing whatsoever in any of the POV characters.

For a DSLR you're looking at an octocopter, which isn't something you should build on a whim.

First time I saw Night of the Hunter I had like a 104 fever. Freaked me out so much I couldn't watch it for like 10 years.

Not of him personally, the complaints were that for a show spanning continents, all of the key roles are white, and they lost a chance to include some diversity with the Dornish.

But the last time a black guy in a wheelchair was on TV the show was cancelled after three episodes, so.

Don't give two damns about Star Wars, but will second a no illicit set photos policy just because they're trashy.

I'm coming around on the fourth book.

With the lens of the emotional and thematic clarity we get from the TV show, I'm excited to see what they do with it.

Anybody read the Dunk and Egg stuff? I burned through the graphic novels a couple weeks ago listening to the Skyrim soundtrack since I can't watch season four for another couple weeks. They're great.

Also weight training.

Speaking of tinfoilery, I dig the idea of Quaithe being Shiera Seastar functioning as Dany's Bloodraven.

Bloodraven's been cast for this season, so he'll turn up eventually (?).

Can see them ending S4 introducing Bloodraven as this well-intentioned (?) undead (?) father figure for an orphaned Bran as his revenging (?) undead mother comes back to life.

Haven't been able to watch any of this season so far,  but a lot of the praise this year has been on the performances, right? Considering the next big set pieces are like a book and a half away, confident they can make everyone sitting around talking to each other in this world at least as compelling as they have so far. There's lots of little fights and raids and stuff that could get peppered through next season, too.

Plus all of Arya's karate kid face ninja learning. And Huck Finn Targaryen.

Or hey they could introduce a whole bunch of new Night's King shit and it will all rage on forever.

If Reading Rainbow is so epically popular, then why was the show cancelled to begin with? And now that it’s coming back — as a for-profit company, not a charity — is it really the best vehicle for teaching literacy to “millions of children”?

Not saying I agree. When Eddie tweeted the Kickstarter link I did not walk but ran to the page myself and immediately shared it around. They were already plussing way beyond $1mil at that point and my charity money is tight right now. Anyway, the Post piece makes an interesting argument, and I wanted to share.

Yeah, Reading Rainbow's always been about an emotional connection, not research based on phenomes and basic skill sets. It's a travel show, not driver's ed.

There are a million reasons a show could be cancelled, especially in the public sphere. This editorial is a logical mess.

It leans on research as a key reason for not supporting this, then proclaims that they aren't operating under how "Crowdfunding is theoretically supposed" to operate. Research shows that high profile projects of any kind draw people to Kickstarter and raise the average amounts of all projects through exposure and, I imagine, more comfortable users.

This movie's a great third position for that audience consent point from the Deceptive Practice / The Imposter Documentality.

Cannot STAND The Oatmeal, and the Tesla worship in particular bugs the shit out of me. Nikola Tesla was a fascinating and eccentric personality. Piling heaps of praise on him and making angry webcomics when people dare to criticize him reduces him to some generic "science hero" and that's bullshit.

Also it's a shitty, unfunny webcomic that panders to the worst internet in-jokes (lol bacon lol cats!!! XD XD).

Couldn't agree more, the comic is not for me. But actions over words, you know? Motherfucker just wants some help building a science museum. Can't knock that.

What's your damage? Brad says you're being a real cooze.

The hero's journey is a toxic, scholastic model that has nothing to do with problem or purpose.

In case of Heathers, being a cathartic, grotesque exaggeration of the horrible hyperreality of high school.

In dif parlance, it's the Kubrick style of being in the feel of it rather than the think of it.

A generic kids' movie with a clichéd plot that we've already seen countless times. Just like Garfield, Yogi Bear offers cute, furry CGI creatures and not much else. Totally forgettable.

Some of my earliest memories are related to Yogi and other Hanna-Barbera cartoons. I can't say that this movie raped my childhood (it's an overused phrase... and it would be a little too harsh in this case), but I feel severely disappointed.

As we may have suspected, a sequel is already in the works wink

You like my fireworks?
