I'm in.
I was about to answer when I realized the whole point of this thread.
It's getting recorded next sunday
I love Krull with a passion.
Of course it is. It's got a release date already, I think.
Ricky Gervais does a great Noah's Ark bit.
Shouldn't we walk?
Nah....
Since we're back on this subject, who's seen the dead island trailer?
I really want to do X-Men when we get there.
DIng Ding, Shifty is a winner. I just loaned my copy to my assistant, because no assistant of mine is NOT going to have read it. THe list he refers to is The Rule of 6. He goes into more detailin the book, but 10 years of editing for a living and I still find myself going back to that list daily.
You were basically told to create somthing in a vacuum which is kinda weird from a teaching standpoint. Its more for students to go home and say "My first day I directed a scene!" so it can keep their interest. Im sure you guys will go deeper into shot composition, directing actors, editing, et al as you go. My wife, among other things, is a Licensed Massage Therapist, and her first day of School was teaching her how to give a 10 minute chair massage, for the much the same reason. She obviously went on to learn much more, but at least that first day she came home motivated.
I would agree that Vaughn did what he had to do to make those books movies, but in the end I preferred the book on both counts. Kick Ass especially made some decisions that were odd, and hamstrung the third act I felt.
Ruth Buzzy (Laugh In)
The operating logic is that if this thing goes well....the opportunity to do more down the road will be higher.
THe coolest thing that Joss never go to explore was the secret of Inara's hypodermic needle.
In the pilot when they are passing by the Reaver ship, it cuts to a shot of Inara eyeing a box that contained a single, pre loaded needle. Everyone asssumes that it was something she would use to kill herself if boarded, but the truth was WAY better.
A couple of years ago at a convention during a Q&A with Morena Baccarin, a fan asked her specifically what it was. She said "Joss and Tim are going to kill me," but then proceeded to tell the audience that the original plan was to see her use that needle in a cliffhanger episode.
That needle was filled with a substance that would kill anyone who has sex with her after she injected it. SO if they got boarded by Reavers, she was going to lure them all into her shuttle and detach from Serenity. Then, much like the iconic image of River after she killed all those Reavers, we would see Inara alive, and all those Reavers dead.
I liked Wash fine, but was totally fine with him getting killed. Book, on the other hand, I desperately wanted to see more of. I think there is so much you could've done with that character, especially if the fact that he had been revealed as a former operative to Mal.
If they had ended the movie with HJO at the bottom of the ocean forever, I probably would have dug it. But instead, future robots dig him up and through no other reason than sentimentality, we ge the ultimate Spielberg ending, and that is not a good thing.
My main issue with AI is best expressed with this commercial
I hate this movie with near Finifterian vigor.
I saw Trey outside Asylum studios last week, and will most likely see him there today.
I just had a son. Recording this will be my first daddy day. I want. To remember. NOTHING.
Black Belt Jones
Dune?
Oh that's easy.
Inception
GAH
Gah? Oh that's easy.
Flash Gordon
Freddy Got Fingered.
Indeed, considering my friend Megan Duffy was a producer for that video.
