I feel obligated to point out this new Asylum release: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pG5EyV8ZQ8I
Look what your friends have done Trey! I blame you by association.

I mostly agree with your guys' points, though I still think you're a bit harsh on it. I'd certainly take Temple of Doom over damn near any of the summer blockbusters the last few years. Also, you complain that it takes its sweet time getting to the Temple, but I kind of appreciate the fact that you have all this buildup, and then the last 30-35 minutes is pretty much non-stop action sequences, very relentless and exciting.

Its still a toss-up for me whether Last Crusade is better or not, because the tone in its action sequences is a bit too goofy for me, and I prefer the set pieces in Temple of Doom (also I will never forgive Last Crusade for ruining the Marcus character and turning him from an intelligent former adventurer to a senile buffoon). I think I also appreciate that instead of going the typical sequel route, they took a chance and made a movie that has a different feel, different bad guys, different time period. Last Crusade plays mostly like a watered down not as good version of Raiders, though Sean Connery goes a long way towards making it awesome.

Godzilla (US) would actually be a natural follow up, seeing as how its basically Jurassic Park 2.5 (albeit trading Goldblum for Jean Reno)

Yay, I fucking love Temple of Doom. Its way better than Last Crusade, despite whatever Speilberg tries to claim.
And short round is the best sidekick out of any movie I can think of off the top of my head, which is amazing because kid sidekicks are usually terrible.

Lost world is more middle of the road, but it has its excellent moments, its just a really bizarelly structured movie (it seems to reach a natural ending on the island, then restarts again for an out of nowhere 4th act)

Oh my god, you guys have to do Street Fighter at some point, it is hilariously terrible, in a very entertaining way. I have to admit to having a guilty pleasure soft spot for it having seen it a lot as a kid, though it is pretty bad. Would make for a hilarious commentary I have a feeling

I remain a firm defender of this movie.

Yes, its stupid and completely unnecessary and solely made to sell toys/make money.
However, it embraces its stupidity and unabashadly goes for the gold medal, with tons of crazy gadgets, thousands of civilians casually murdered by the heroes, and lots of pretty damn entertaining action set-pieces.

This is especially confirmed for me having seen the utterly mediocre and boring Captain America movie, which is somewhat similar to Gi-Joe (Hydra is a lot like Cobra, energy weapons and gadgets) except it takes itself too seriously and isn't nearly as crazy/fun in the action department, playing it much more safe.

I say, if the premise is ridiculous, embrace it and give me a fun over-the-top movie, which I think this delivers (I will admit the flashbacks still suck though)

See, I don't get that view-point. I would honestly call it above average sci-fi. The only real big problems for me are the disjointed feel, a few lines of dialogue (I actually like most of Riddick's lines in this one, minus the tea-cup bit), and thandie newton. Its not great or anything, but it's 3/4 of the way to being great in my book. I believe Vern called it not half-assed but 2/3rds assed in his review, and that's pretty much how I feel about it.

Sorry, gonna have to side with Matt here, I think Chronicles is awesome, and totally works as a story. As he pointed out, most of your problems were addressed in dialogue in the movie which you failed to pay attention to. I also don't get your hatred of diesel, I think he totally works in the role and makes an entertaining badass. Yes, the story could be more focused, but its just such a cool universe, when's the last time we've had an awesome original sci-fi universe like this? There's basically firefly and this in the last 10-20 years.

Also, Shoot-em-up is a piece of shit, tries to make fun of John Woo but has totally boring action scenes with no impact, and an annoying as fuck self-aware tone. Hot Fuzz is how it should be done, you have to play it straight or not at all.

I expect a full deconstruction of how this movie makes no fucking sense. And how the Terminators barely kill anyone on screen at all. And how it doesn't even show the future war. And how Michael Ironside is wasted. And how hollywood ruins dreams.

I just wanted to point out that this is easily in your guys' top 3 shows. Its definitely one of your funniest shows, I was constantly losing it and cracking up. Great show!

I don't believe there's an extended cut of ID4 (correct me if I'm wrong), the special edition just has more bonus features, so you should be fine regardless of version

You guys had better rip Terminator Salvation inside out when you do it. That is one of my most hated movies of the past decade.
From the script making no logical sense, to the fact that it completely blows an opportunity to show us the future war (you had $200 million for a future war movie and you don't have a single decent action scene!? How does T1's shoestring budget future feel way more epic than this terrible movie), to the complete disregard for the previous movies (no nuclear winter night-time, moto-terminators, terminators throwing people around instead of killing them). Did I mention that skynet's plan makes no fucking sense? And I hate that all the moto-terminators and hunter killers are CG and don't look nearly as good as the practical models from Terminator 2.

I think its fair to say Terminator Salvation is my Phantom Menace.
