I have no idea how valid this is, so critical thinking glassses on, but apparently Evangeline Lilly only agreed to do the movie if there was no love triangle between the 3 of them. But then in pick-ups PJ basically crammed one in there. Hence why it feels so stilted and hack and slash editted in.

Like I said, could be apocryphal, I just remember reading it somewhere.

I actually really like the Supernatural (tv show) idea of heaven, where we all just sort of exsist in our own little universe that's a little replica of how we wanted our life on earth to be, rich, famous, a good keg of beer every night, alone and everyone else has buggered off etc.

*Clarification: Not as what I'd actually like heaven to be for myself, but just conceptually, it's way more grounded than a lot of other versions of heaven and it fits well with the rest of supernaturals mythology.

I still can't rationalize the idea of sending your baddest sunabitches humans to the place where the baddest sunuvabitch angel is, and then expect him to torture them.

/Yeah, not really interested, I'll be really curious to see how he visualizes things (And from the looks of things so far, it's going to be a really pretty movie that way), but as a story/movie, not really interested.

I've never understood the idea of an infinitely powerful, benevolent, being that is like "Hmmm...you guys, yes, you guys...not so much. Oh! You guys haven't committed your lives to worshiping me? Well, I guess you can just just go die in a fire then."

I haven't seen Tintin yet, so can't comment, but those pictures are really pretty. I really should get around to it, it's on Netflix I think.

I guess it must just boil down to me liking slightly freaky looking animated movies. Because yes, I too imagine it to be kinda freaky looking, but for me that's the point, not a lynchpin downside.

Because I think:

is absolutely fantastic looking.

Pixars stuff is fine, but I've said it before, it's be nice if there was something else out there other than subsurf playdough skin with pretty lighting. Every single animated movie these days has the exact same look and design basically. But anyways, that's an argument for another day, that I've made before.

Did not even realize Kingsfoil was a reference... I'm assuming when Frodo got the whole stabby stabby thing, Kingsfoil was involved somehow?

I did like the Gimli one though, mostly cause it was a nice bit of humour that wasn't overplayed (read: like almost every other piece of humour attempted in these damn movies)
