They were Nazis in training. Somewhere in those trenches were Hitler and friends. Hmm... I know the whole point of Young Indy was for him to meet historical figures, but did he ever run into a young Austrian painter?

The TV series had WW I era Germans and wasn't all that loved, so where does that fit in with your theory?
Wait, so you're saying they started making the movie when all that existed of the comic was one issue? Almost have to wonder why bother, as the book would have no fan base yet and there was little to steal.
That makes you wonder if there was some sort of duel ownership of the first issue but not the rest of the series, or if the writer was just stupid enough not to go out and read the rest of the comic.
"Damn it, all I have with me is the first issue to give you. Well, you can go buy the rest before you start."
"Hell no, I'm not spending my own money on this! I'll just make something up."
The Last Airbender is streaming on Netflix, so if there's a peak of masochism in the Down In Front lair that's an option.
Hell, given it's so short (one of the main problems, although time to do the story right wouldn't have helped if the cut Kioshi Warrior scenes are any clue) do one of the first season episodes as part of the movie commentary.
I like Temple of Doom, although it has been awhile (I saw it on a church outing, of all places- the other option that evening was Top Secret). Most of the flack seemed to be that it was a prequel and not a sequel, and people weren't going to give it a pass in certain areas like they did the first.
You have to remember that despite being first, they've lost the Avatar naming war and want to avoid confusion. If there weren't to be more Avatar movies, maybe they'd keep using the title on TV.
Very cool. I'm eagerly awaiting this show (along with the Bruce Timm Green Lantern animated TV series). Not only was the original great, but you have to respect creators who not only go in with a fixed length story, but refuse to extend it when it becomes a hit. Yes, this is a "sequel", but they waited until they had a good story and didn't just do another three years of the Aang Gang.
They re-introduced the 12 inch Joe's in the 90's, and when my parents died I consoled myself a bit by buying up a bunch. The Patton and General Bradley are great, and it was interesting to watch The Pacific with the GI Joe of one of the characters. They stopped production again a few years ago for the same reason they did the first time- they were just too expensive for a kids toy. I think they re-introduced the 3 inch version about that time.
There was a great Eddie Murphy bit on his return to SNL as a guest where he talked about the new smaller GI Joes, and Barbies preferred the real ones.
Haven't seen the movie, but I love it simply because the trailer synced up perfectly for the trailer for Team America. They knew exactly what film they were making
My copy of the movie has the Rifftrax merged with it, and while re-listening to the podcast with it just now I got to the point where the giant is explaining to Harry what a Muggle is. The riff changes his dialog to "You see, Harry, when a group of people is different it helps to come up with a funny sounding word, or 'slur', to describe them." By any chance do the books deal with that aspect of it?
Turn it into an adaptation of The Fountainhead, and I think we have something here.
It was a dark and Dorkman night...
Well, the second attempt to film King's Dark Tower books seems to have failed, mostly due to cost. Can't say I'm surprised- unlike a lot of series you can't just do the first book and go from there, you almost have to commit to the whole thing at once and film out of order (the kid Jake alone has to give producers massive headaches). It's for that reason I'm almost more interested in HOW they were planning on doing it then watching the final result.
So, for those who have read the books, how would you try and do it? Stick with the book story order? Try and work chronologically? Start at the end and have most of it as flashbacks told at evening camp fires? Try and carve out ONE story arc?
Does Asylum know (or care about) the difference between a screenplay and a treatment?
About the whole "we can't say his name" thing, the Belgariad book series by David Eddings has a great way to handle it. This wizard has a spell set up so if someone says his name he can then listen in on their conversation. Once our heros are ready to make their move and want to be able to talk freely, they ask the king to instruct the bards and singers to break out the old songs that say the guys name over and over figuring the wizard will get pissed at being bothered all the time and stop listening.
I hear California also has too many hot, sexy women. I think Indiana can solve both those problems at one go.
Also interested in discussing a snow-for-sunshine exchange.
An attempt to drain the great lakes of water to send elsewhere was recently defeated. Those of you who actually want to drink and grow things will be forced in the near future to move back to the "Rust Belt", which I think we'll rename "The only place with fresh water". Thus, the women will come to us
Girl meets boy they fall in love
She says he's everything she's dreamed of
But when they get married before he's aware
She changes his habits the way he combs his hair
She changes him to someone he's never been
And then complains he's not like other men
Now really I find this most illogical
Gee, remaking a teen movie so that modern teens will see it. How... normal. Naturally, usually when they do this they use a different name figuring teens won't have heard of the earlier version anyways.
(I recall the local review of Top Gun, back in those pre-video days, that commented that yes it stole from every movie out there, but kids hadn't seen those movies yet)

The Warthog is all about firepower though. It's a shame it is no longer being produced.
There's no reason to make more as we have a ton and aren't losing any. They're upgrading them, though, expecting to keep using them till 2028.
I agree about the Corsair- There's one signed by Pappy Boyington hanging level to the entranceway in the huge air/space museum next to the DC airport.
The best plane, though, is the A-10 Warthog. For when you really don't like anyone on that road over there.
He wants to be able to talk about you behind your back during the recordings, Teague
Wanted is showing up Monday so my guess was right
Is it still as gay as the original? That aspect of what Russell Davis brought to Who got to be a bit old, and I gathered Torchwood was even more so (I only saw the crossovers).
