I deny a whole hell of a lot about that movie. Next step is to deny it exists at all.

I agree with you, Ewing and I'm annoyed that Hanks didn't get a nomination for that last half hour alone. It was a great performance.

Yeah, Porridgegun, how dare your own personal opinion be different?

No dude, I get the film. As I said, I listened to the commentaries and watched all the extras, I understand everything Pegg and Wright were going for  smile

Plus, that essay is too damn long big_smile

No, why? An essay isn't going to change my mind smile I've listened to all the commentaries and watched the specil features and I still don't love the film, sadly.

I'm still fairly 'meh' on the World's End, that was the major disappointment of the year for me. I really really hate the ending.

Yes! Agree on Pacific Rim, although, Charlie Hunnam is English, not Australian smile

I haven't seen the other films in the category apart from Gravity so I can't judge the competition so I'll still give it to Deakins. smile

Well, if someone hires Owen to do that at a funeral, I'd question them more than I would him. Though, I'd still look at him in disgust too big_smile

I want him to get it because I think the film looks great and he deserves it for the job he did on it, first and foremost.

It's getting a bit worrying (and admittedly tiresome) now, the guy clearly has some mental health issues and should seriously consider seeking professional help.

I want Gravity to win [Gary Oldman]every one![/Gary Oldman], but would retain my faith in humanity if it won cinematography, effects and directing.

As much as I love Gravity and want it to win awards, I'd rather Deakins won cinematography for Prisoners because-

a) that movie looks great
b) I want it to win something as it didn't get any performance noms
c) he's Deakins and has never won one yet which is tragic

GRAVITY is back in theaters, too. IRON MAN 3, to my knowledge, is not.

True, although Gravity is not available on dvd/Blu Ray like Iron Man 3 is. Probably doesn't make any difference but I just wanted to post something big_smile

Steven Price up for best score for Gravity, awesome. He composed two of my favourite scores last year, that one and The World's End, he's one to watch.

The version I wrote long ago is this:

A female magician named Blunt
Was all her spectators could want
She could reach down and snare
  A rather large hare
From her perfectly clean-shaven cunt

Pfffft, at least mine was written like a real limerick big_smile

I had to take up the challenge an I think I may have composed the only limerick to ever feature Acedemy ward Winning actress Linda Hunt. For that, I am proud.
