Sure! I'd love one. If you'd like, I can PM a box.com account you can upload a file to.

If I had to guess, I'd think the Guitar Hero mic would be better than a laptop mic. But I have no idea what the internals of a GH mic are like.

Ideally, lowest noise and highest quality possible are what I'm shooting for. That being said, it can be surprising how decent low cost, low tech solutions can be.

I also quite like the poster design. I'll give this one a shot, too.

My wife wanted something "light" and this is what we settled on. Bland, flavorless little film. Unremarkable in every way. I laughed two times, I think.

What I did like about it were the cameos. A lot of comedians I like are in here. Unfortunately, they just have nothing to do.

But what I liked best about it was that it was about a friendship between two women, who were the main characters. Yeah, they saddled in a romance but that was secondary to the main story. I dug that. A Hollywood film that's about two women who are friends and are intelligent that doesn't rely on gross out humor and allows the chemistry between Tina Fey and Amy Poehler to happen naturally, which is SO DAMN REFRESHING for Hollywood.

What I disliked about it: everything else.

Wow.  Now THAT's a turnout... and a quick one at that. Kudos, you guys.

I'm not 100% sure how many characters there'll be in the story, but let me start the roster of volunteers nao (in chronological order):

Graphics
1. BigDamnArtist

Voice Acting
1. drewjmore
2. Rob
3. fireproof78
4. Tomahawk

Anyone else game?

Alright people, I might have another story lined up. Been talking to an author friend of mine and he's currently working on a 5000-7000 word short story featuring 7-8 characters that he intends to have finished sometime end of next week or mid the following week. In his words, it's:

"It's a Kung Fu fantasy cloaked in a steam punk setting, cloaked in a film noir detective story."

So yeah. I'm pumped. If you wanna get in on this action, either in voice acting, music or graphics, lemme know.

Trey wrote:

Jewel of the Nile suffers from advanced sequel-itis, it was a pretty blatant cash grab for everyone concerned (except Zemeckis, who passed on the sequel to direct some flick about time travel and incest instead. wink)

Unlike Romancing the Stone, Jewel is just big and loud and expensive and completely lacking the charm of the original, which was one of those whadda-we-call-ems... "perfect movie"s.

Fair enough. Now you've got me wanting to watch both to compare and contrast.

Y'know, I always see love for Romancing the Stone, but I never see it for Jewel of the Nile. Why is that? I always liked that movie.

The Secret in Their Eyes sounds intriguing. I am consistently impressed with the amazing films Spain just keeps pumping out.

Goonies hit me at the perfect time.

I was 5 years old and was the kind of kid that watched every movie 100 times over. I've seen it about as many times as I've seen Ghostbusters, Weird Science, Explorers, The Neverending Story and Sheena.

My entire childhood was nurtured on a healthy diet of movies from 1980-1986, basically. So yeah, definitely a healthy dose of nostalgia, for sure.

And at 5 years old, I desperately wanted to be one of the Goonies gang. From the Truffle Shuffle to Data's awesome gadgets to Mikey's accidental kiss with Andy, it opened my eyes to adventure, comedy, pirate treasure and kissing girls.

I don't know what others use, but I use a Shure SM58. It's your run of the mill stage mic. It's 20 years old and still works fine.

Anyone up for another project? I'd like to do something shorter and with a bigger cast this time. It'd be nice to get a woman on the cast, as well. Who's game?

Just got the following email from Cameron Suey, the author of "Dust". I had sent him a message letting him know the video was up and that I was happy with how it turned out.

I just finished listening. You should be ridiculously happy. The old-time radio vibe with the extra actor and the sound effects are phenomenal. I'm really blown away by the quality and the aesthetic.

I'm going to prep a post sharing some recent readings and highlighting "Dust".

Thanks again for this, it's so thrilling to see something I wrote interpreted by others.

Production update on "Dust":

  • New music

  • Finished mastering audio tracks

  • Rendered final audio

  • Uploaded audio to SoundCloud

To do:

  • Render and upload video to YouTube

We're at the very end, now. It's my son's birthday as well as my wedding anniversary, so I'm not sure if YouTube can happen today, but it'll definitely be up tomorrow.

Production update on "Dust":

  • Section 4 sound effect tracks laid down

  • Audio is now 95% done

  • Started work on video template

  • Entire production is clocking in at about 27 mins

  • Teague is a God among men

To do:

  • Finish mastering audio tracks

  • Attempt to compose some half decent music and add it to the mix

  • Render final audio and add to video

  • Render and upload video to YouTube

  • Upload audio to SoundCloud

Listened to the first full cut of the audio on the way to work and this morning and got chills by the end. That's a success in my books.
