White Lines (the song Shaun and Ed try to get the zombie to sing along to, it's an American song but was really popular in the UK in the 80s)-
I love my Blu Ray player. Even though it is sitting in my mum's house not being used. My tv blew up so I have nothing to plug it into at my flat
Oh, Priest. That should be a fun listen
And Body Snatchers '78, yay!
I hate the fact that there is a band in the UK called McFly because if I had a band (and was in any way musically talented) I'd name it 'Hello? McFly?' or 'Think, McFly'. Failing that, however, I'd settle for 'Biff and the Buttheads'.
I still say The Thing is one of the best remakes ever.
I doubt I'll be able to say something similar about the prequel.....
mellowrages wrote:How about something like The Host? I'd be interested to see some more foreign films on your site.
Whoa. Wait. We have another Scot on the forum?
I know, I don't feel as special any more
And welcome to the forum, Mellowrages
Oh and Invasion of the Body Snatchers ('78), Body Snatchers ('93), The Faculty (a forgotten Robert Rodriguez flick), Poltergeist, The Hitcher, Child's Play, Nightbreed, Tremors, Pumpkinhead, From Dusk Til Dawn, Event Horizon and a personal fave of mine- Night of the Creeps.
You could also do the original Fright Night from 1985, seeing as how the remake just happened. You've also not done a vampire film yet, and this one has lots of great creature FX from Richard Edlund.
EDITED TO ADD: The Monster Squad, Scream, The Evil Dead, Cloverfield, Deep Rising and The Fog (it's weird that you guys haven't done more Carpenter films than just The Thing).
Any of these. Speaking of Carpenter, I would suggest his original Halloween but there isn't really much you could say about it. I will also add Prince of Darkness and In The Mouth Of Madness (the last good film Carpenter made....)
My sister (who is now 19) grew up on stuff I like- Raiders, Last Crusade, Bugsy Malone, Gremlins, Goonies and especially Muppets. On the other hand she also watched shit she liked (Mary Kate and Ashley films for example) but a lot of the time she'd sit with her big bro and watch stuff he used to when he was growing up
Now I can't get the wee bugger to watch anything with me
Just got back from watching the (old) Muppet Movie.
Really enjoyed it.
Which do i watch now?
Maybe Muppets Take Manhatten (The Great Muppet Caper is one you can probably do without though I do have a soft spot for it). Or you can just skip straight to Muppet Christmas Carol then Treasure Island and probably avoid the rest.
Glad you enjoyed it
Written by Pegg and Frost. Didn't find out until the end, and wish I had known during the advertising period not that it was "directed by the director of Superbad," but "written by the writers of Shaun of the Dead."
Well, one of the writers. Comparing Paul to Shaun and Hot Fuzz, it's sort of clear that Wright is more than a talented director, he seems to be the better writer too. I love Simon Pegg (bit of a man crush) but if you look at this and remember the rumours that Jessica Stevenson was supposed to be the better writer on Spaced......
I saw Paul back in February and I've watched it twice since buying the Blu Ray a couple of months ago. The joys of living in the UK. I'm buying Attack The Block on blu ray next Monday too and that's just been released in the US.
Interesting note on just how long they took to make Paul, on the dvd commentary for Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs, Bill Hader talks about filming Paul while he recorded the voice for Cloudy! And in Simon Pegg's autobiogrophy (released here last year) there are set photos and talk of making Paul. I'm rambling now. First time I've been online for days (well, 3) so I'm just typing shite now, woohoo!
Happy belated birthday Mr. Teague, sir. Have a Star Wars cake-
(these fuckers cost £42 ($66-ish) so I'm glad I'm not actually buying you one
Jimmy B wrote:I was going to write it in 'Scottish' but decided against it, it wouldn't have been as adorable
You could have subtitled it Speaking Adorable Alien Language.
Alien? Cheeky.
I was going to write it in 'Scottish' but decided against it, it wouldn't have been as adorable
My friend saw Volume 2 at the cinema and when the film was finished, the left he cinema behind two older women(they were over 60 at least, apparently). Their conversation was this-
Woman 1- What did you think?
Woman 2- It was alright, a bit confusing though.
Woman 1- Aye..... maybe we should have watched the first film before seeing this one.
Woman 2- Aye......
Ok, so I couldn't make it after all. Gives me podcasts to look foward to

If a woman feels as though she has to enhance her breasts for any reason, self-asteem or vanity, that is totally up to her. I personally do not like the way they sometimes look and prefer real ones but at the end of the day, it is what makes the woman happy that counts.
I can take some more now if there are any left to do
I picked that Blob clip too! Great minds and all that
Anyway, the new site loks great
