I love the fact that you guys obviously still enjoy doing this and record and release a show when you really didn't have to. That's why I love you guys  smile

I have a question- what happened to the Chamber of Secrets commentary? Sorry if this has been answered before but I'm unaware of the answer. Hence my asking the question. Obviously. Ummmmm.....ok, I'll be honest....I have no clue how to end this post.....ummmm.....oh look, kitty!

I'm in the middle of a DiF re-listen at the moment anyway,(no laptop or tv at home,so it stops the boredom) I can do-

77: Silence of the Lambs
78: The Blob
79: Dawn of the Dead 1978
80: Dawn of the Dead 2004

Oh, can I have

105: Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs

too? I have that on my mp3 player and I watched the film again this week smile

Abso-frigging-lutely!

The stuff they did for the first Muppet movie is so noteworthy. From the simple- (Kermit on a bike) to the not so simple (Henson underwater for the opening song), there's so much to talk about. While Treasure Island is great, it doesn't really have that 'wow' factor that the original did. In my opinion, anyway smile

I thought Demi Moore was cute in the 80s and I thought her original boobs were fine. The new ones? Ugh. That scene in Striptease when she reveals them makes me want to vomit, to be honest.

I've been suggesting a Muppet movie for aaaaaaaaaaagggggggges! Fecking love the Muppets. I'd rather hear a comm for the first movie though as some of the shit they do for that in '79 is awesome. Oh, and the UK doesn't get the new movie until next February........... Aaaaaaaaagh!

Oh, and anyone who saw it, is it just me or is the Thing remake virtually shot for shot with the original?

I have watched Carpenter's The Thing at least twice a year for the past 20 years and yes, it's just you big_smile Besides, it's 'not a remake, it's a prequel'......

@JimmyB: I legitimately enjoyed myself, of course what that says about it as a "movie" I'm gonna have to keep quiet in these parts lest have my head torn from my shoulders in a torrent of raging.

That's great that you enjoyed it, you are perfectly entitled to, I just won't watch it to see how wrong you are wink (that's a joke, obviously, I don't care if you like it or not)

I'm glad the UK has the NHS at times. When I had Carpal Tunnel in boths hands, I don't know what I would have done if I couldn't have had the operations. My hands were constantly sore and my grip was for shit. I was told it would get worse if I didn't get it fixed and it was bad enough as it was.

My mum's friend lives in New York and has Lupus and a brain tumour. The price of medicine is immense. She's planning to move back over here.....

Then I call bullshit. I enjoyed the movie a lot but the ending was really fucking stupid. The locket part didn't bother me though, as someone who lost two members of his family in the space of two weeks recently (though, thankfully not my mum), I sort of teared up a bit. The alien getting away was shite though.

Make up your bloody mind who we're rooting for Abrams!

EDIT: Actually, now that I have thought about it, it was a bit of a waste making Alice the abducted one. It should have been the dads that were taken, or at least one of them and the other is forced to help. Seemed a bit odd taking the best character (and best acted in my opnion) away, reducing to her a damsel in distress.....

I just saw this yesterday (it was just released here last week) and I loved it, Elle Fanning was fantastic.  I do have one question though....

Were we supposed to actually feel sorry for the alien at the end? You know, the alien that killed and ate people? The alien that they let escape to get to it's own planet so it can bring all its mates down the buffet planet.......

This is for Trey. I don't know if anyone has told you this or if you have read it yourself but Moby Dick is briefly 'reviewed' in this month's Empire magazine. It is in the section 'Kim Newman's Video Dungeon' where he picks straight to home video movies and tells you if he feels they are worth a rent or not. Newman is a  respected crtic in the UK (just in case anybody doesn't know). He reviews Dinocroc Vs Supergator then-

There's more entertainment to be had from Moby Dick, though the fun in The Asylum's typically shoddy replay of the Ahab Vs. Dick story mostly comes from Barry Bostwick as a one-legged nuclear sub skipper out to even the score with the big white and enough dialogue gems to keep us in quotes all year...

He then quotes his favourite lines from the film. His quote of the month for the article is 'He took my leg. I don't intend to give him my ass.'  smile

Agree 100 % with the DiFers on this commentary. The difference is, though, I've never really liked ToD, even when I was a kid. I was always a Raiders guy then a Crusade guy when I saw that in the cinema. I love both about equally now, despite the way they fecked up Sallah and Brody in Crusade.

no more live shows for me, sadly. My laptop is knackered so no late night internet browsing for the time being.

I am not a fan of Temple Of Doom but I like bits of it (mostly the action). Willie bugs the nips off me, I hate that character.  I think Last Crusade is better. The Lost World is a bit 'meh'. It's ok, but could have done with being 20 minutes shorter. None of that Godzilla rip off shite. Can't wait for the podcasts though smile
