I LOOOVE Benjamin Button. I'm probably going to miss the live show, so if anyone trashes it...I will not be able to defend it.

David Fincher on Rendezvous with Rama:

"We want to make a movie where kids go out of the theatre and instead of buying an action figure they buy a telescope."

Not the best that it could be. I feel like Empire promised a much different movie, one that was darker and more character-driven. That said, there are things that I love about Jedi, Jabba being chief among them, but I hate every single thing about Endor. The final battle with the Emperor almost redeems it, but not fully.

Is it the Special Edition of Jedi? I feel like you guys should confront them, and this is your last shot.

At 1:03:36, you guys start talking about the slit-wrists ghost, and how she knew she was dead.

I always figured that the ghosts in the movie lived in the moment just before they died. The hanging ghosts, the bicycle ghost, and even Bruce Willis to an extent, because of his obsession with helping Cole, are examples. Therefore, the slit-wrists ghost was saying "You can't hurt me anymore" because, in that moment, she knew that she was about to die.

The Last Airbender would have been truly painful for me to watch if it wasn't so goddamn funny.

The leads of Princess and the Frog were unknowns, BUT Zachary Levi and Mandy Moore are in Disney's latest, Tangled, and they both sing their own parts. They're good, too. Tangled is fantastic, by the way, with awesome music from, wait for it, Alan Menken!

The Big Lebowski?

The Fugitive?

Just throwing something out there.

Saw it in IMAX 3D. Daft Punk was, by far, the best thing about this movie. Flynn's dialogue bugged me. Hedlund's performance was surprisingly good. I just felt that the story was a little bit all over the place. But hey, I had a good time. It looked friggin' incredible, and that more than made up for the story's faults for me.

Interesting pattern: Lots of fictionalized accounts of actual events. Last year's list included one of these that went on to be very successful: The Social Network.

A lot of people do that, actually. Jews, most prominently. As a Jew myself, I'll be spending Christmas at a Hibachi joint and watching Tron Legacy.

The LOTR extended editions would be really interesting. Of course, would that be two separate commentaries, or would there be a second pause/unpause point in the middle of the episode?

By the way, when you guys do Return of the Jedi, you've gotta do the special edition. You have to talk about them eventually, and Jedi has arguably the most offensive additions of any film in the original trilogy.

It was just a weird, totally amoral revenge fantasy dreamed up by a 9-year-old.

How did you feel about Kill Bill? That description fits it perfectly, but Kill Bill is better received by most people.

Zarban wrote:

"And then... they kill Hitler!" Um. How do you square that with the history books? "What? Hitler is dead, right?" Right, but we know this isn't how he died. "I haven't read any history books. I'm only nine."

You mean something happened in a movie that didn't happen in real life? Unheard of!
