Topic: Much Ado About Nothing

This looks intersting. Anything Joss does I'm going to give a chance. I have reservations when Shakespeare is put modern settings. The juxtaposition created beween the dialogue and the visuals is diffcult thing for my mind to get over. It's cool to see a bunch of Joss regulars together in one project, like Fillian, Acker, and Denisof. It looks like he's doing something cool with color and black & white. I'll be interested to see what he uses that for. I'm interested in seeing it, but I doubt it will come to a theater near me, so I'll have to wait for a release on Netflix or something.

It's Whedon so I'll certainly check it out although I don't actually know much about Shakespeare.

The last time I saw one of his plays it was "As You Like It" and it featured a robot.

I'm looking forward to this. A friend saw an advance screening and adored it.

Speaking of Joss, I saw this today: http://newsletter.blogs.wesleyan.edu/20 … mencement/

Good work with the speechifying. And again with the death obsession...should we be worried?

Re: Much Ado About Nothing

Much Ado is such a perfect fit for Joss. It's basically the play he would have written in Shakespeare's time. So much sass. I can't wait for this movie.

Re: Much Ado About Nothing

I have to say, I think it looks really cool. The play really does have a high-spirited sassiness that is similar to a lot of Whedon's own writing.

Apparently Whedon shot it entirely at his own house. Which is one way to increase your property value.

Re: Much Ado About Nothing

I'm loving that cast.

Sadly, I've not read the play, for some reason it's rare to do this one in English literature class during our UK high school equivalent (which is, no suprise, shock full of Shakespeare). I probably should since I loved Branagh's version from 1993.

Re: Much Ado About Nothing

Nathan Fillion as Dogberry?  What?  Totally should be Don Pedro.

Edit: Alan Tudyk.  That's your Dogberry.
