Well, I think we've all learned something from this thread. Namely that everyone is stupid and has no taste.

Wow...just wow. I leave for a bit, listen to the episode, come back and there are GIF's all over the place. C-Spin, what have you done, what have you done?
http://i610.photobucket.com/albums/tt184/Hobbes217/CalmDown.gif

On to my unpopular opinions, not flaming intended and no particular order:
-Nero is one of my favorite Trek villains, top 3
-ROTS is one of the worst of the prequels, with AOTC being my favorite.
-Can't stand Guns N' Roses, the Who, Marylin Manson, Korn or Metallica
- I like Lady Gaga's songs, at least some of them
-I can only handle Dr. Who in small doses, though "Blink" is a good episode.
-Riddick is a reluctant hero, not an anti-hero

Um, cannot think of any more, but that gives a good feel for where I am at.

God loves you!

Re: #45 - Unpopular Opinions

If you can tell a person's position on all the hot-button issues by knowing the answer to just one of them (e.g. if they're pro-life, chances are they're also going to be pro-guns, pro-capital punishment, Creationists, anti-gay, pro-Israel, anti climate change, etc), then is it the same thing for movie tastes?
Once you know whether they like Phantom Menace, you can infer they're also going to like Prometheus, Transformers 2, and Adam Sandler movies.

Sorry, but I have to contradict your theory. While I like TPM, I can't stand Transformers or Adam Sandler movies. Haven't seen Prometheus yet though.

I like Phantom Menace, but hate Prometheus and Transformers 2. I do dig Little Nicky and Big Daddy though.

In Europe, almost all homophobic right-wingers hate Israel with a passion. sad And Creationism is pretty unpopular on the Old Continent, even among nuts. big_smile

I unabashedly love Southland Tales. I prefer The Terminator to T2 and my movie of the year so far (although I haven't seen Looper or Cloud Atlas yet) is Prometheus.

I don't, but I can understand why you would.

As for me, loving My Little Pony : Friendship is Magic might as well be an unpopular opinion, but I'm not ashamed of it. It's awesome.

And fourthed. The Terminator is a terrifying, tense and moody action movie that strays into horror genre territory, tapping into the nightmare of having an unstoppable force chasing after you. T2 is essentially a lighter and more outlandish remake. The dial has been turned up, but I don't think it has the same impact. That's not to say T2 is at all bad, mind.

Here's another one for me, I liked both John Carter and Battleship more than Avatar.

Hextable - Harvard evolutionary psychologist Steven Pinker defines "Hextable" as: The album you find in someone else's collection which instantly tells you you could never go out with them. In other words, the deal-breaker.

So you're on a hot date, things are going well, she brings you back to her place, but then you see 'x' in her Blu-Ray collection. You immediately gather your things and take your leave. What's your deal-breaker? Anything by Eddie Murphy? Uwe Boll? Twilight?

I like early Eddie Murphy films so if she had Beverly Hills Cop, 48 Hours and Trading Places in her blu ray collection, I'd probably high five her big_smile

I don't think any film in her collection would cause me to leave. Everyone has different tastes and I accept that. Plus, she'd have to put up all the Stallone/Seagal/Van Damme films in my collection if we made it to my place on the second date, so I think we'd be even.

Although, if she had White Chicks in her collection, I'd actually consider leaving, depends how hot she is big_smile

Re: #45 - Unpopular Opinions

Speaking of Eddie Murphy, I have another unpopular opinion:

I like Beverly Hills Cop 3 a lot. I'm not a big fan of the second one though.

I haven't seen 3 in a while but I remember not liking it very much. The second is a Tony Scott film but not really a Beverly Hills Cop one.

Ditto. She can have anything in her collection (even The Human Centipede or Twilight) as long as she doesn't force me to watch it with her. big_smile And I hope she won't be freaked out by my sci-fi and Winnie the Pooh DVDs either (some women are  wink ).
