Hey, GRRM makes the rules. I just call 'em as I see 'em.
LOL... My favourites are already dead, well, except Tyrion and oh, the Blackfish too, he's still kicking it.
edit - it's quite amazing that we can have a discussion about an imaginary world and debate the actions of fictional characters. It goes to show how well GRRM has crafted Westeros/Esteros.
Well, that was underwhelming. Was expecting some sort of a bang. Didn't get it.
Ya, I think they dropped the ball by stopping short of multiple potential moments that would've made good cliff-hangers (none of which will be discussed here). Its a good episode except for how limply it ends. That worries me because I think they really needed to leave some hooks for viewers who are still on the fence after last weeks ep. I suspect tonight's ep was the most-viewed of the series history, and I worry we'll see a significant drop in viewers for start of next season (but maybe I'm just crazy).
Regardless, TV viewers should be excited, because there's a metric fuck-ton of stuff that's been left for Season 4.
Hehe, I love how content and almost happy it left things, everyones gettin back together, families are rejoined...
Which, to anyone who understands how this shows brain works, should instantly fill you with an ever increasingly large amount of sheer dread and terror for wtf is going to happen next season.
I personally thought it was a fine way to end the season.
Don't you worry. It gets there.
Honestly, if you're able to hold out and stay unspoiled for a year, the blu-rays are the best way to watch this show. They look a hell of a lot better than the compressed streams you get on tv and web (this was especially evident in the Blackwater episode, which is all night-time, pixelation city for streaming services), and the story flows WAY better when you watch them back to back. I wasn't a huge fan of Season 2 when it originally aired, but it played a lot better when I re-watched it a year later back to back like that.
I can imagine that same being even more true for season 3 or as I call it the slow season ![]()
Starting the books at book 4 would be a little too jarring, I think.
