Big rock candy mountain!

Aidan is still young enough that this is his idea of a good time.

If you go to my facebook page you can see Grayson and I in a duet on "I was a teenage anarchist."

Oh, Canada. Grab a piece of string that'll stretch from Alberta to Montreal, and I'll sing into a plastic cup for you.

Aaaaanyhoo.
I dunno what genre Crime in Choir are. Instrumental, kinda proggy, emphasis on catchy rhythms and it has a sort of dreamy but super-accessible mood to it. Also, a prominent horn section. I think they're excellent.

Kentish Fire. We opened for them at Silfest, and they are so good. SO catchy, fuckin' irresistible groove , just massively likeable. I think they described themselves as "Indie Disco" which wouldn't ordinarily be my thing, but I really dig their sound.

Disclaimer: if you dislike the tone of a post I make, re-read it in a North/East London accent until it sounds sufficiently playful smile

From a folk opera about Orpheus, Hades and Persephone. Sinisterly catchy.

Re: Dubious musical taste.

There was a sci-fi short released a while ago called C which featured a tune that I thought was really powerful. I managed to track down the band and they're called Sellorekt LA Dreams. All instrumental with a 80s video game vibe.

I've been on a folk kick lately, and Anaïs Mitchell and Ani DiFranco have successfully penetrated their way into my current list of favorite artists. Shall be seeing the former live whilst studying in England. *does a little dance*

Re: Dubious musical taste.

I found these guys yesterday and I haven't been able to stop listening to their stuff. The best way I can describe it is acapella metal, they utilize a drum backing, but for the most part the rest of their tracks are built with acapella and group chorus/chants. It's unlike anything I've heard before, and I love it.

Re: Dubious musical taste.

Interesting. I like folk metal, as well as groups which combine male and female vocals. Your Battlelore, Cruachan, Coronatus, etc. Even Nightwish can get folkish. Actually, Van Canto reminds me a bit of Blind Guardian. I may have to get an album from iTunes to annoy people at work with.
