Re: #37 - Are We Worried About Pixar?

I'm been preaching the gloriousness of all things Starkid in these parts for years brother.

For some reason it's never taken.

Well anyways, you get a fervant thumbs up from me to get all you bastards to go watch at least one Starkid show. Twisted takes Aladdin and the whole Disney/Pixar thing. Starship is the bastard offspring of Little Mermaid, Starship Troppers and Aliens (With puppets!). The Very potter Musical trilogy is obviously the fan parody version of Harry Potter. Holy Musical B@tman is Batman taken to the comical comic book extreme. Airport For Birds is a sketch comedy show they did at the Second City stage in Detroit. Take your pick.

Well there's no accounting for taste  wink

An exchange I particularly enjoyed:

CAPTAIN OF THE ROYAL GUARD: You would not believe the morning I’ve had.

JAFAR: Why is the Captain of my Royal Guard covered in shit?

CAPTAIN OF THE GUARD: Well, my men and I just jumped from a window and into a cart of Crazy Hakim’s Discount Fertilizer.

JAFAR: Why?

CAPTAIN OF THE ROYAL GUARD: We were chasing a man - no, a devil. A thief who every day robs from the common folk. Bread, laundry off of clothes lines...and even watermelons. We try to catch him but he’s always just one jump ahead.  Today things got a little out of hand and a lot of good people are dead.  The sword swallower slit his throat from the inside when the thief’s pet monkey ripped the sword right out of it.  You know the guy who sleeps on the bed of nails?

JAFAR: Yes...

CAPTAIN OF THE GUARD: A fat guard fell on him. Now he’s dead.  Then when we fell into the cart of manure, Kabal snapped his neck on impact, two more choked on shit... All this, for a loaf of bread.

Somewhere, there's a collection of scripts for the musicals my old elementary school's 4th and 5th graders would put on. They came up with great stuff, like their version of The Hobbit (inspired by the just aired animated movie). The final battle kills off the dwarfs to the music of "Ten Little Indians".
