Unicycles, bicycles, trampolines, beards, pointy moustaches and shiny velvet shirts. Need I say more?

Yeeeah, I really need to get around to playing these games.
Oldschool theater projectionist explaining an 'alarm' system that was common back in the day to warn projectionists that they were about to need a reel change. According to him, systems like this are the reason there are often long, sustained vertical scratches on all those old film prints.
I just thought it was kinda neat.

If it were a game, they'd advertise it that way. This - like most of the things parading around as games lately - is not a game. It is a movie with a limited amount of interactive busywork you have to do to unlock the next movie clip. This is "Interactive Entertainment", which sounds like one of those alternative phrases for something, like how "Graphic Novel" is a fancy way of saying "Comic Book", but IE is something else entirely. Modern games are more like interactive movies than games, and they spend a lot of effort removing unwanted things like challenge, complex interaction and AI so they can focus on scripted sequences and graphics.
That Supernatural/Eye of the Tiger clip cheers me up all the time. It's awesome

When I discovered that they had done a full version of this, I nearly squealed in joy. And I was at work...it was awkward.
I really need to get around to playing these games.
0_o .... you haven't already? *sigh*
*hint*skip the first one unless you REALLY care *hint*

Why would you skip the first one? It's the best. They pretty much neutered the RPG elements in the second and it became a story heavy shooter more then an RPG.

How did I miss that one of the Conchords wrote the songs for The Muppets?!
don't get me wrong.. i love every single tidbit of mass effect's story, but i just really didn't care for the gameplay of the first one.
I felt that most of the game took a looooong time to get somewhere. Riding in the slow ass Mako, and the slow ass elevators...
also the combat felt a little wonky.
When the 2nd one came out, I felt like it didn't bullshit around 1/2 the time. And that if you were to introduce someone to the series, they could start with the 2nd one and be brought up to speed quickly with the story.
.... but i haven't played it in a while, so i might be proven wrong when i do my massive playthrough of all 3 in a couple weeks.
Edit
Oh shit, forgot to put this video in:
Enjoy:)

kwit tryinna indoctorate my childruns you libral hollywud commies!
Seriously, tho, the idea that Ghibli is run by hollywood is laughable. Also, these films are both adaptations of extremely popular classic children's books. What the hell, man? Put anything into your film about not destroying the environment and you become some kind of anti-american terrorist sympathizer.

This is either the first clip from Ridley Scott's "Prometheus", or the beginning of a viral marketing campaign for it. Either way, it's very cool and it has Guy Pearce.

I'd say viral marketing campaign. It's actually also on the TED site itself: http://blog.ted.com/TED2023/ and currently linked from the TED front page.
The website is also real.

That was so epic. I am so ridiculously psyched for this thing now. If the whole thing is that good, we're in for something special.
Awesome and genius clip. Fantastic turn from Guy Pierce too.
Beetlejuice for kids? Fuck yeah
It's still painful to watch, but more entertaining.
