Re: Chronicle

I used Trey first because he chimed in first.  Then you chimed in followed by Brian.  So the sentence should read as follows: If Trey, Michael, and Brian liked it, then I probably will too.?  And yeah, I see how spell check didn't pick up on "pervious"...

Re: Chronicle

Just saw this. I was less enthusiastic than everyone in the thread, but some parts of it were a blast. Once I realized I was never going to be particularly happy with the Andrew character arc, I just checked out of that part of the proceedings and enjoyed the final sequence for the imagination-porn it was. Lots of really cool stuff there.

Re: Chronicle

Just saw this for the first time. It takes a while to get going doesn't it?

I feel like this could have started later in the piece and spent less time showing how much Andrew was bullied, and worked that in to the flow of the film more. I never really felt bad for Andrew so wasn't too concerned when his long-telegraphed spiral happened (the character's save the cat moment happens too late in the piece when Matt, Steve, and he are already flying gods). Matt was too apathetic to really get behind; he starts cool, shows some low level vulnerability to Casey, and then saves the day.

But it was kind of fun from a what-if perspective. Did anyone else feel like they were channeling the second act of Akira for the entire film?

Re: Chronicle

Oh yes, lots of Akira. The director is a big fan, as I understand.

I watched Chronicle again recently, and I noticed that the first ten minutes is the worst part of the whole film. After that, everything really picks up.
