Now I've also realised I can't fulfil my dream of being on a DIF commentary (even though I'm not really qualified). I really wanted to vent about a couple medical or comic book movies.

Wow.  Knew it had to happen one day, and that that day was probably coming sooner rather than later, but it's still a bit of a shock.

Don't have anything to say really that hasn't been said already.  You guys have been responsible for a mind-boggling amount of insightful and interesting content, and I don't think I'll ever be able to watch a film that you did a commentary for without thinking of you.  Really wish I'd been able to hang out live on more than a handful of occasions, but hey, we'll always have malaria. 

Just a quick personal thank-you to Teague, Brian, Mike and Trey for the Thor commentary, and to Brian specifically for his fantastically clear summary of the concept of the 'through line' just before the 2-hour mark.  That's now the phrase I use with my students to explain what I want from their essays, and I quote Brian in my course guide.  And the day after Cinco de Mayo will always still be Cinco de Mayo in our household. 

Very glad to hear that the forums are continuing, and waiting with bated (and indeed baited) breath for whatever projects are coming next.

You guys made something really special here. Main, didn't think it would bother me so much, but it really gets me.

I still need to see Jupiter Ascending so I can do my next podcast...oh and finish that stupid Hobbit one (at least for avatar)

Wait. One serious thing that I don't think I've ever said is how much I love how this forum challenges me and invites me to be interesting and creative. It's the interaction with fellow film lovers and clever, creative people who will get my idiotic and overcomplicated jokes that spurs me to my favorite moments of silliness and thrills me with all of yours.

I have said before that this place is special (and krazy kudos to Holden for constructing a clean, functional forum that doesn't get bogged down with needless widgets) and the people in it are special people.

EDIT: I also want to say that this changes nothing between us, Dave. We are still mortal enemies forever. Sometimes I regret my vow, and all in all you've been a great mortal enemy, but a vow is a vow.

Well, that and that I never got to do the episode where I explain why Spaceballs is a terrible movie.

This was the first podcast I ever subscribed to, and still the only movie podcast I follow. You guys are incredibly bright, witty, thought-provoking, and know how to put on a show. I know you'll succeed in future endeavors. The great thing is that the forum has made just as big an impact on me, and that we get to keep! This place has shown me what true kindness and respect on the Internet looks like. Love you guys, and job well done.
