The last time I tried to play this, I was flummoxed by the complete lack of tutorial and the fact that the entire game consists of people yelling at me for not knowing what to do.
Have they…addressed this issue?
No clue, I've only played it once, and that was on a local network with friends.
Played TF2 a few times, but never with anyone I knew. Back when Steam first came to the Mac, Mac|Life had a group you could join and play on Fridays. They dubbed it "Frag the Editor Friday," since it was typically the staff on one team and readers on the other. Wouldn't mind giving it a go with folks I know, but I never really got into multiplayer games.
In case anybody's interested, you can find me on Steam as "niambo." Maybe frag some zombies in L4D.
nightunderafullmoon on steam here. So totally a noob it's not even funny.
watch a couple of these, and you'll get the hang of it.
Oh and my steam gamerthingy is "Mad Bad Coyote" (with spaces)
....but i usually stick to SP games on my crappy PC ( thus, no friends on steam).
Just popped this baby open, though the server kept disconnecting on me. Hopefully the connection will be better later.
Hey, are clans still a thing?
EDIT: HamillianActor

Um, ok, anyone found the "Add / Invite Friends" button for Steam? Feeling a bit dim here. FixedR6, how'd you invite me?
Is this going to be one of those things where somebody figures out how we can play together, and then we do, and it ends up being just ridiculously fun?
Cause I'd sign up for that. If somebody were to talk me through all the stuff I'd need to know.
Hint hint.
Hell yah bro, sign me up. Although apparently you have to buy something in Steam in order to be able to add friends. So you guys'll have to add me
Maybe we could just make a group called "Down in Front"and all of us could join it instead of dealing with gamertags
PS: Gifting would be appreciated, LFD2 and Portal 2 especially. (not asking, just sayin)
See, that's what I'm talking about. I have absolutely no idea what a "gamertag" is. The last video game I played was Snake. On my phone. In 1994.
Somebody have pity on us morons and explain how this is supposed to work like we're two years old.

Agreed, I desperatly want to play portal 2. Again, just saying
Just created a group for Down in Front.
Go to steam, go to the community tab, click on groups, search for "Down in Front", it should be right there. It will show up as Down In Front(DiFPlaytime)
Let me break it down for you:
Nearly all online gaming services (Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, Steam) require you to have a name (Mad Bad Coyote, nightunderafullmoon, HamillianActor,). I like refer to these as Gamertags, because thats what they're called on Xbox Live. (PSN = PSN ID, Steam = Usernames, etc.) However you can call them whatever you want.
Steam is basically Xbox Live for computers. It allows people to connect with your friends by adding them to your Friends List.
Steam also allows you to create groups. These groups allow people within them to see if others within the group are online and communicate with them through chat.
I have played fewer games than Jeffery.

Valve has made the game noob friendly-ish.
They have added a tutorial for all classes that explain their strengths and weaknesses, as well as explaining what to do in each gametype.
That pleases me. But I note you didn't comment on the people-yelling-at-people thing. Is that still in the game, or was that bug fixed?
Considering that this game just became free, a lot of people are gonna start doing this again.
However, if muting annoying all/certain players with an in-game option counts, then yes.
Teague and I played Goldeneye on an n64 while waiting in line to see the ROTS midnight showing. And I personally have seen him bust out the Konami code from memory to unlock stuff in Tony Hawk Pro Skater. I don't know if he knows it WAS the Konami code, but he remembered it.
Point is, he's got more gamer in him than he's willing to admit. And I just joined the group, the name is TheKyleMark. I have zero experience with shooters online, so I would fucking love to get in there with you guys and act a fool.
I play lots of TF2.
my Steam name is... sigh 'UnidentifiedFlyingTard' (immature I know, but people remember it)
Just joined the group. I'm down for some TF2... though I have to re-re-re-download it first.
