Looks like audio isn't working on this one? (May be that it just hasn't finished processing yet and I'm an asshole, in which case apologies)

Yeah, no audio on my end either. Shouldn't be a youtube processing thing, that's usually just video quality.
*finishes blindsight*
*sees this*
*checks both*
*notices that the microphone was muted in OBS for some reason*
*decides an emotional response would not help*
*...*
*flashbacks to recording multiple hours worth of LP's without a mic turned on*
*pours 2 shots*
Ahhhhh fuck no, I'm so sorry

Both of you, thank you, each, for those replies. Each one made me feel better.
But... I gotta tell someone: Cloe made me feel better, too.
Our apartment's not very big, so while I'm reading, she can hear most of this stuff pretty clearly from her desk in the other room. She was doing headphones-white-noise as usual, for most of Blindsight — she's heard it all before — but she was Actually Listening for most of TLF, I was later surprised to learn. She had already known about and approved of all of this 'reading' stuff happening in her midst, of course — but, for that reason, I figured she'd be in 'headphones mode' all day, just doing her thing. But what happened in this case (as a passing event, this one time; presumably) was that she found herself more interested in just doing chores and listening to the decontextualized adventure emanating from the other room.
Imagine how much of my shit this woman has been forced to listen to over the years. And yet, this happened.
(In other words:
Abbie and Nate: "...so you know your story is good."
Everyone else: "...so you know part four is good.")
Anyway. As I said above, I finished reading Blindsight — which: this, too, is a big episode — and only then noticed the replies about the audio, and only then checked for myself, and only then checked OBS...
I typed the above post, and walked out, in a pre-implosion mode of massive loss. She's workin' with headphones in her ears, by that point. She looks up at me, pulls a headphone out; "Neither file recorded. The mic was off."
Zero reaction time; she just gets it, takes the other headphone out, gets up, and hugs me.
She knew. She knew, and she knew me. She got it. (Pro-tip: Find yourself a Cloe. Good luck.)
What happened in my emotionverse was: Cloe 'getting it'... prevented me from having to feel it. And so.
...
Epilogue: Teague sees these posts, shows them to Cloe. These posts finish the job Cloe started.
...
I get by with a little help from my friends.
...
Alrighty.
Take two!
You and Cloe are both The Best and the above post perfectly illustrates why. *hugs*
Tada!
Processing, might take a minute.
Notes
This is a good take. It's fine. There's nothing wrong with it — I think I'll even like it, once I forget the first take.
...but, the first take was better, I'm sorry to say. Like, 10%. Not for any specific line or reason; the impulses just felt a bit more real and fresh; the accents were a notch better. It's not a big deal, I'm just a little disappointed.
Anyway. Learning lessons. 'Let's not do that again,' etc.. Onward and upward!
Notes
Random full-disclosure: In this case, take two was actually better, f'ya ask me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Alright, folks, who wants a chase scene, some walkie-talkie voice, and speech synthesis standing in for a monitor display?

Notes
Lemme know if the background noises (which pop up in this recording occasionally) are too much. I can't tell.
Absolutely could not get Auden out of my head tonight. And so—a little poetry.
September - Litany - Miracles: Three Poems (15min) - "September 1, 1939" by W.H. Auden; "Litany in Which Certain Things Are Crossed Out" by Richard Siken; and "Miracles" by Walt Whitman.
plus something from Mona Awad's 13 Ways Of Looking At A Fat Girl because that's what I'm reading right now and this story is the one on the web.
The Girl I Hate by Mona Awad (24min)
Beautiful.
A few small things tonight:
"Four Quartets: Burnt Norton," T. S. Eliot (poetry)
"Spar," Kij Johnson (short fiction) [CW: unconsensual sex, disturbing content]
"Instructions," Neil Gaiman (poetry)

I did not see the poetry coming.
I should have seen the poetry coming.
Notes
1) It's part 8, not part 7.
2) I just wanna say... thanks, guys, for writing a good Star Wars movie. People should get paid for shit like that.
