Re: Down in Front 3.0 is LIVE.

Almost sounds like your internet connection dropped out for a second. I dunno, weird. If it happens again, hit F12 and let me know what error you get in the console (If you're using Firefox, uh, uh, I don't remember what the debug console shortcut is).

Re: Down in Front 3.0 is LIVE.

I'm using Google Chrome, and near as I could tell, my connection was just fine. Your guess is as good as mine. I emailed a screen cap. smile

Re: Down in Front 3.0 is LIVE.

Chrome and Firefox both support Firebug, which has a mug's eyeful of debugging information in its console.

Re: Down in Front 3.0 is LIVE.

Eh? Is that a good thing? smile

It is when you're debuggering.

Re: Down in Front 3.0 is LIVE.

Holy shit, the forum header is 6 kinds of awesome!

Re: Down in Front 3.0 is LIVE.

Oh, did we change the forums?

Hm.

Re: Down in Front 3.0 is LIVE.

No, I don't think we did.

I'm like ninety percent sure we did no such thing.

Re: Down in Front 3.0 is LIVE.

I'm seeing 'Facebook Store' on a new line under the DiF logo, rather than all in one.  Is there a fixed-width box somewhere on the page that should be wider/absent?

Re: Down in Front 3.0 is LIVE.

Better?

Re: Down in Front 3.0 is LIVE.

OH GOD, NO.

Re: Down in Front 3.0 is LIVE.

Whatever just happened, the forum's now an un-navigable mess in IE.  The header and the forum listings are overlaid on top of one another.   Took me several random clicks at where I assumed this thread would be, in order to get here and post this.  smile

I know supporting IE isn't the highest priority these days, but anyway, FYI.

Re: Down in Front 3.0 is LIVE.

Try it again, Trey. Was trying to fix FCW's thing on the fly.

Which, for the record, is a terrible fucking idea.

Re: Down in Front 3.0 is LIVE.

Yes, those flies are a bugger to use for repairs.

Re: Down in Front 3.0 is LIVE.

Heh, there was a file that wasn't properly being loaded for some reason. Found it when I switched to my home PC. Fixed, fcw?

Re: Down in Front 3.0 is LIVE.

Now that looks better.

Re: Down in Front 3.0 is LIVE.

Much better - the issue before was that the forum text was scrolling on top of the header, and I assume it's supposed to be scrolling under it.  But now it's not scrolling at all, so no problem.  (Maybe you just disabled the scolling for IE?  If so, that's a perfectly acceptable solution.)

My next suggestion is to make the header about 1/4 the size it currently is.  The header fills almost half my browser window on my laptop, leaving not much room to read the actual forum.   The big buttons make sense on the front page, which is largely graphical, but not so much in the forum which is textual.    A scaled-down header, ideally with just the text of the buttons and not the icons, and a correspondingly small DIF logo (or just :Home: in the same text as the other buttons) would make the thing much less obtrusive.

Re: Down in Front 3.0 is LIVE.

Everything looks alright in my Google Chrome browser, except now the border around this box (as well as the one at the top of the page) is gray, instead of the usual blue. sad

Re: Down in Front 3.0 is LIVE.

Warm grey is the new blue. But the curious glow behind the new forum caption is still blue.

Re: Down in Front 3.0 is LIVE.

I can't keep looking at it. It's actually hurting my eyes. I'm gonna go AFK for a bit.

That's nothing compared to the first website I made.

I still have nightmares about it.

Re: Down in Front 3.0 is LIVE.

Smaller header icon = done.

Re: Down in Front 3.0 is LIVE.

Looks great, but kind of clumsy in a standard 1024-wide display.
