To be fair, there was no forum when the first episode came out (or at least few of us were here) and we don't bother going back to comment on old episodes. Now, the fact everyone is ignoring the Reservoir Dogs thread in favor of this...

1. Big enough, 46" I believe.  Not mine.  Surround sound too, so yay!
2. Yeah, getting a camera phone to expose a t.v. properly is a bitch, even with help from the Photoshop app.  I love how they've figured out focus lock on camera phones, but not exposure lock.

We lost power shortly after starting the main feature, but I got to see the behind the scenes and bloopers.  Looked like a fun shoot, lots of jazz hands.

I think this guy wants to capture some of that Red Letter Media vibe, with less than perfect success... but I love that he used 2010 Moby Dick as his subject.

I give extra bonus points for being yet another review that says it's the best movie Asylum has ever made....

His ability to simultaneously high-five himself and jerk off about his own amazing "jokes," while noteworthy for its physical improbability, did not endear him to me.

And I did like his point that, of all the things one could use to search for a rogue submarine and/or whale, a helicopter is well over on the "less effective" end of the scale.

Not actually, aircraft are used in various ways with various tools to help hunt submarines. They can drop payloads like depth charges, sonar buoys, and torpedoes (as in Hunt For Red October) and also have sensors like magnetic anomaly detectors and surface mapping radar that can detect submarines. There's also the not inconsequential possibility of just spotting the fucker with a bird's eye view if it's at periscope depth and conditions aren't too bad.

There's also aircraft specifically designed to hunt submarines, like the P-3 Orion, which is like a regular airplane, just with a big ol' dick to slap submarines with.

Well, hey, the helicopter could've been moving from one search grid to another at the moment the movie cut to it.

I blame the director for not giving the actors the freedom to improv and thus bring full versmillitude to the Navy-Seahawk-helicopter-hunting-a-Virginia-class-submarine experience.
