Game of Thrones really isn't like anything else on TV. Name another show that's done something even CLOSE to what they did last night.
The closest I've got is Henry Blake, and that was done off screen... it kills me every time, but still off screen.
But yeah, nothing.
Fuck man, GoT just keeps ramping it up. Friggin love it.

Well, Battlestar Galactica whacked several major characters over its run. But not all at once.
What's so brilliant about this turn of events is that it seems like the story is effectively over. But since this was built-in from day one, there have been plenty of clues about what sorts of turns might be coming next. Everyone who's still standing is going to be affected by this... and some are gonna start heading in radically different directions as a result. Wheeee.
Clearly, the reason they put this in the second-to-last episode is so the season finale can show how much this changes the game for next season.

EXCITED!!
I love this.

Yes, which is something they've already done with the first season.
People are gonna start fearing the number 9, I tell ya.
Here are the last few minutes so if you've seen it (or don't care), watch it and see what was missing from the end credits-
Actually, we book-readers know the real tragedy in this episode was:
In fact, Rickon and Osha split from the group in Book Two and have yet to be seen again. The TV show kept them around an entire extra season, most likely so their vanishing wouldn't last even longer.
Best quote I just saw:
"By Dothraki standards, I would consider this wedding a very entertaining affair."
I'm a very morbid person at times, sue me.

Game of Thrones, I'm going to take back some of the things I've said about you. You... you've earned it.
Holy crap that episode. Probably the most shocking moment in TV history. I had no idea or warning that that was coming.
Crumbs that was a bit harsh!
Crumbs? Oh, I love you, Faldor
Oh Shit, I Totally Forgot That Happens! by George RR Martin

I was actually going to go down the Penfold road but decided against it

Cackled. Out loud. That's what I just did.
So close...
So, you're saying it's NOT predictable? No longer is almost every character an asshole who relentlessly insults and schemes against purported friends and allies as well as enemies?

I assume you don't follow United States politics, then...
And even besides that, that statement's a massive generalization. It describes maybe half the characters, or not even that. The show spends just as much time on that as it does on Sansa or Bran or Arya or Davos or any number of other characters who don't spend any time scheming and plotting. It sounds like someone showed you a clip reel of Littlefinger scenes and left it at that. The show is so much more than political strife.
I watched all of season one. And it sucked balls.
The show is so much more than political strife.
"Game of Thrones" LITERALLY MEANS "political strife".

You know, this is one of the reasons the later Dune books don't really work for me. There are so many conspiracies going on and very few sympathetic characters. The first Dune novel is like that but the sequels do it in droves.
Really wishing that someone more artistically talented than I would do House banners ala Game of Thrones for Dune.
Spoilers for ep9.
Why Maisie Williams will always have my eternal devotion.

I kinda figured after that Onion post we were beyond that, but yeah, spoilers.
