Re: Suggest a movie!
I have plans to still make that happen.
They involve a police box.

I agree, but DiF taking on all 8 seasons is a little daunting task, don't you think?
Sorry but the Stargate geek in me is screaming in pain and horror right now.
SG-1 had 10 seasons, Atlantis had 5 seasons and Universe had 2.
Yes I did that from memory, what's it to yah!?

I'd like to suggest the 2007 film Stardust. It had a big budget, but was little known, and was a box office flop. It was quite a surprise when I saw it in theaters.
Oh Stardust, how I love you. And I agree.

Oh, the SG geek in me died a little too as I wrote that. The SG movie commentary would be like a consolation prize to me in order for others to appreciate the coolness that is the SG franchise.
On another note, I'm surprised the DiF crew hasn't done any of the X-men movies. I mean, talk about nerdville. Maybe Teague might not cry as much as he did with Spiderman.
Zarban, you utter bitch.
Im curious to hear what you have to say about hot fuzz and shaun of the dead.... but im sure thats been brought up 100's of times.
that or you could always do LotR:EE by this christmas....

A promise is a promise.
We need some Nic Cage. 8MM. Con Air. Lord Of War.
If you're gonna do LOTR, then just do one of them. I don't think there's sufficient crap to talk about for 9 hours worth of commentary on what is effectively one movie. The only thing that really amazes me about that movie is the amount of effort it took to keep the various scales of the characters looking right. Child doubles, complicated camera rigs, crazy set construction and forced perspective, etc.
I say ConAir. He tried auditioning for Supes in that one.
Off the top of my head I'm gonna go with The Rock for a Nic Cage picture, but Con Air is up there too.
I also love The Rock
In fact, either would be good for a commentary, I think there is more cheesy over-the-topness in Con Air, if that makes any difference. Probably not, but it's worth a shot......ooooh, double feature
Funny you should mention that, Faldor, I've got cash sitting on my account for stuff I traded in to Cex (a UK site for our American friends) and I am seriously considering getting The Rock on Blu Ray for £8 ( I have £9 on my account). It's that or Con Air actually, nice wee coincidence that this conversation came up
Yes.
Or is it...?
Yes, yes it is.....

After listening to "Riddick" commentary, I think "Dune" should be done. The 1984 version was supposed to be groundbreaking in several ways. Sounds like perfect DiF material.
I'm watching this again, you should do: Frequency (2000) it's such an underrated scifi movie, one of my favorite time trivel(ish) movies.
Frequency is great, very underrated as you say. A bit sugary towards the end but still a good watch. I second that suggestion
Yes, I think it would be great for the podcast, anyone else? come on!
How about an American Beauty and Road to Perdition double-bill? Or maybe Untouchables in place of American Beauty so you've got two pre-war crime dramas.
For other themed nights, how about the following:
- Mad Max 2/Road Warrior and Doomsday
- Conan the Barbarian and Conan the Destroyer
- A Tale of True Grits
I could go on, but then I'd just have written out a long list and you'd think 'I'm not reading all that'.
We're doing a theme weekend again this week, actually. The Green Mile and The Shawshank Redemption, is the plan.
