Topic: The People vs George Lucas and RLM

So RLM just posted on FB that they will attending the premiere of the People vs George Lucas in Chicago tomorrow night, and seeing as I live relatively close to chicago, I'll most likely be attending if I can.

Why do I bother bringing bringing this up? Well since the release of Plinket's episode 3 review, I kinda feel like everything important that can be said about Star Wars (both original and prequels) has for the most part has been said.

The point being is that I'm curious to ask the DIF crew your opinion on the matter. Do you believe there is anything big left to say.  Not really the little nit pick parts, but the big reasons why the originals work (or worked as far as the SE go) and the prequels don't, do you think the matter is for the most part closed?

Speaking black and white here, Is this movie going to be insightful or is it not even necessary?

Not to sound lazy, but I think it was closed before we got here, and if it wasn't, it's since been closed pretty thoroughly. (Thanks in part to RLM.)

This is one of those films I've been hearing a bit about for a year or so now. It'll probably be covering the same old stuff but hopefully they'll make it entertaining.

You mean before DIF or before we were born?

Re: The People vs George Lucas and RLM

Is there really much of a mystery? Lucas changed important aspects of the original trilogy and added a bunch of clutter to what had been great films, then told everyone they could go to hell if they preferred the original versions.

As for the prequels, Lucas wrote a good first draft, which no one had the guts to tell him needed to be revised a couple of times to be good as a final draft. Then Lucas got overly involved in the casting, which he was never any good at, and hired some wrong people for the key roles.

Any further analysis is just fan nerdery. Of course, I'm as guilty as anyone of fan nerdery, but I'm not making a documentary to show off my high-water pants, pocket protector, and eyeglasses with tape on them.

Flavin.

Warning: I'm probably rewriting this post as you read it.
