Go.

(Yes, I have one in mind, but I'm saving it for later.)

I dunno if this is just because it came out so recently, but the first one that comes to mind is Milk.

Grave of the Fireflies. Nothing better then an autobiography where the writer kills himself off as a teen because he's ashamed to have actually survived.

My personal favorite is Catch Me If You Can.  Blow is also awesome, as is Ali.

Not the greatest, but I'll mention Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, from the go-big-or-stay-home school of autobiography.

Also, I'm pretty sure that The Terminator is James Cameron's autobiographical story of arriving in LA with nothing, stealing to survive, and telling wild stories to anyone who will listen until he gets Linda Hamilton to fall for him.

Warning: I'm probably rewriting this post as you read it.

Nope, you guys are all wrong.

The correct answer is Gandhi. Which I just watched again last night. My god, that's a good movie.

Gandhi is a very good movie, but dare I say Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas?

you know unless the book was nothing but a lie.

I seem to be in a small camp on this one, but I liked Chaplin.

Would you consider Ed Wood to be a bio flick? If so, then that one. It may not be accurate, but it's great.

I am partial to Patton myself.

I like Alexander (the Oliver Stone one), though I'm not sure which of the many edits is truly the best, probably Revisited, but then I'm a big fan of historical movies and of the ancient Greeks. I love the soundtrack too, by Vangelis.

While Ed Wood may be embellished a bit, it is such an amazing flick.

I'm quite fond of Raging Bull.

Actually....just realized what my favorite biopic of all time is

24 Hour Party People.

Tucker is a pretty good movie as well, though it's more about the car's history than the man's.

Of course, everyone knows that the real story of Trey's life can be found in the film Die Hard.
