Re: Release, Record: 11/9

The entire forum races to Wikipedia!

That said, given that Tammy Tell Me True was the second in the franchise, I maintain that it should have been called Tammy Tell Me Two.

Well, some of that was fun. Thanks DIF and chatroom!

But they just threw Peter away! "Oh, he went to college, but I'm waiting for him." Pssh. It doesn't look like you're waiting very hard. It looks like you're about to let Dr. Cunning Linguist into your country dialect, TRAMP!

In that case, I'd rather do the theatrical. (The extended one isn't fixed or anything, and it's longer.)

I've heard from some people that the extended cut actually makes something vaguely resembling sense.

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

No idea how long Justin.tv will keep this up, but here is the "Trey hates the children" moment from right before the Kick-Ass commentary went off the rails.

God, you could spread this on pancakes. Mmmmmm. Yum.

Justin.tv will play an ad, but five seconds in you can X out of it.

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

Just to let everyone know, I've managed to find amid the Audacity temp files (which I got from Teague), and am starting to piece together, what we got of the KICK-ASS commentary. This will still happen.

The actual recording died just after Trey said "She's too young, she's fine," and I think it was somehow my doing when I leaned back to take my niece from my sister, so literally you'll want to download and archive this specific moment right here, and the audio can go crappy for about 30 seconds in the middle of the commentary with the Justin.tv audio, and we can pick it up in the second-half recording whenever we do that.

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

Can someone please do that? Justin.tv used to have a function for the admin of a channel where you could back up your highlights to YouTube, but they've removed it. We just need an audio backup, I'm not sure the highlight will last any longer than the usual videos do, which is a week.

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

I've already downloaded the long videos of the commentaries.  Where was this problem exactly?  I just listened to the audio highlight that Teague referenced.  Then I watched my downloads and the thing seems to work fine...  I think I'm missing something.  I can give you guys what I've downloaded if you want, but it should be what you can already get off the justin.tv site.

Does trey say "she's too young, she's fine" toward the beginning or the end or what of the commentary?

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

sounds fine to me when I listen to it.  Are you guys just not hearing any audio at all after that?

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

The issue is that the actual recording here stops right after Trey said "She's too young." The Justin.tv feed is the only record we have of the next few moments with her actually speaking into the mic, etc. So if we want to include that in the show, we have to extract it from the Justin.tv feed.

If you have the full video, that's the best for us to have so I can make sure the reconstructed audio file is synced.

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

This conversation is a little confusing, but I think what Teague is saying is that he doesn't know how to rip the flv from the justin.tv site, so he wants someone else to do it for him, and what switch is saying is that he already did that and doesn't understand what Teague's problem is with doing it himself.

Anyway, I also grabbed it, and can happily email the flv along to whoever the hell needs it if they provide me with an email address to send it to. Or you can get something like this and download it yourself.

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

I think there are actually gaps in the justin.tv feeds.  I'll have to check on that.  I have the pirates commentary to play around with to test my theory.

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

Here's our situation. The audio going to the broadcast never cut out. The audio going to my hard drive did, right during these moments. We stopped. Later, we'll record the rest of the episode, and splice them together. Unfortunately, the best moment of the whole bit happened AFTER the hard drive stopped recording, and we're definitely going to want that moment in the show.

So we need the audio for that moment to patch a hole between what we already have on our hard drive, and what we'll have later when we re-record. Namely, the period of time right before Trey began his spiral into infamy and all the way through until that's done with. Not necessarily the video, just audio of it.

Mike is saying some audio leading up to that point would be helpful for when we're trying to sync the hard drive audio we already have to the band-aid audio someone will have off of Justin.tv.

Clear as mud?

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

alright, I can give you guys a .wav file transcoded from the .flv from the justin.tv site .  I can email to whoever.  I think from now on, just for shits and giggles, I'm going to try to record the audio for the live broadcast onto a solid-state medium.  That way you guys will have a good back-up if you need it.

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

Wow... so basically what I've gotten from this conversation is

Switch: "I've got the audio from iJustin if you guys want it to capture Treys awesomeness"
Teague: "Thanks but we need the audio from iJustin to fix the commentary."
Switch: "Well yeah, I have the audio...right here. Do you guys want it?"
Dorkman: "Well we'd need to get the audio off iJustin if we want to use it."
Switch: "Well yeah, I have that, you guys want it or what?"

*Slow clap*

LOL Maul

And for the record, if you use Firefox, the plugin you want for ripping audio and video from the Web is DownloadHelper.

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

I don't think dorkman and teague were having a hard time understanding.  The problem was I wasn't clear enough, so let me clarify.  Sure it had crossed my mind that they could just download the video feed themselves to patch the audio, but I thought maybe when they downloaded the .flvs, they couldn't hear that part of the video for some reason.  That was why I was asking more questions.

BTW, I played around with the pirates commentary and it seems that justin.tv has a two minute and thirty second gap between each .flv video.  So, I'm going to record the audio out from the live show in the future.

I say we all pitch in and buy Teague a Zoom H2...

Run a line out from the mixing board to Zoom's line-in. No more lost recordings.

Unless the thing that usually happens with the external hard-drive happens with this, which is it somehow gets unplugged or jiggled.

That said, yes. So much yes. This thing looks bad-ass.

Well, I can keep an eye on the donation inbox and let y'all know when we've reached $120 or so, which is what they seem to cost at most vendors, so nobody would have to set up a special account or anything.
