Re: The old "next week" thread.

Not really, the only reason it exists is for the thread title itself being visible and changed. Socialize that shit.

Well, in that case I will take this opportunity to say that this coming Saturday I'm gonna get to ride on a fire truck.

PS Just watched Avatar for the second time in my life.  Liked it, again.   I deduct some points for criminal underuse of Michelle Rodriguez, but otherwise a solid effort.

Trey..... I like you  tongue

And re: the firetruck, bad....ASS! Do I sense a story behind this?

Seems like an awfully well-planned firetruck hijacking to me. I would've thought you'd be more impulsive than that.

My wife has the strangest crush on Michelle Rodriguez.  I showed her "Girlfight," right when she was burning through the second season of Lost, and she just gets crazy girl boners for her.

UNDERUSE?? Every time she speaks I have to wipe vomit from my mouth.

Re: The old "next week" thread.

I like Michelle Rodriguez and I tend to think she got a very unfair reaction from certain fans during Lost season 2.

If were talking about Lost let me rephrase. I tend to be wiping vomit from the walls.

You should see a specialist about your vomiting problem.

Re: The old "next week" thread.

I am very excited to finally hear the DiF crew's thoughts on Avatar. Since my postings back during its release I have had many opinions and thoughts on the movie  (none of them ever really being a strong like for the film) from my initial hatred, which fueled me for several months to finally being at a place where I can go "eh, it's a nice visual spectacle".

it's still hard for me to accept, though i can understand now, how it gets such acclaim. to me it will always be like watching someone else play a really cool looking video game. that being said, my new found understanding of people's appreciation comes in part out of finding 3D to be mainly a gimmick but seeing how it can actually be used to create an alternate reality, as was the case with Avatar. in most cases, i refuse to pay the 10 extra dollars to see a film in 3D (except for the next Saw... what can I say, that franchise is my one guilty pleasure, give me that!)

oh and DING DING DING!! FIRE TRUCK!!!

This is probably the  best description of Avatar I've seen yet.

Ten extra dollars? TEN?

What horrible money-grubbing theater are you going to that charges a $10 3D surcharge on every ticket?

Re: The old "next week" thread.

It's possible that the only 3D theatre near him is an IMAX 3D, in which case he would be paying a double surcharge.

Re: The old "next week" thread.

Sorry. It appears I exaggerated (but only slightly). I think the last 3D movie i saw was Avatar (on IMAX) and since then I remember hearing they have raised the price.

I just did some quick research (via Movietickets.com) and it appears the difference at the theaters near me (several of which offer IMAX) are:
Regular price - $9
Real D 3D (not IMAX) - $14
3D IMAX - $16

I know it could be much worse, with some cities charging the real D price for regular movies, but there hasn't been anything released recently that i felt the need to pay $7 extra for.

btw, are these prices reasonable? What are theaters charging in other cities?

Re: The old "next week" thread.

I just checked Fandango for the closest theater to my house. Eleven bucks for regular, $14.50 for 3D.

18.50$ for IMAX Avatar in Manhatten.

Re: The old "next week" thread.

Man, that's crazy. I pay all of an extra dollar (in Japanese money) for 3D. It doesn't even factor into my decision.

Yes, especially after the apparent disappointment of Avatar. lol

It's a good one. We also recorded Constantine this weekend, also from this thread. We hear you people through the computer.
