Re: The old "next week" thread.
Hmm, looks like I'm going to have to take a wild guess as to what to put into my Netflix queue...

Oops.
I can has ESB?
Are you guys doing the theatrical cut, directors cut, or European cut of 'To Be Announced'?
Theatrical cuts suck. They're the beta test of movies. From now on, I want only extended editions—especially of movies that suck anyway. The least they can do if they make a lousy movie is to make it good and long.
oh zarban, you slaps my knee.
oh and i'd put money/bones/scrilla/republic credits down on it being the theatrical version.
which means im busting out my VHS, any of you ladies joining me?
So here's the dillio. We're out of pre-recorded episodes, and literally everyone but Jake is unavailable to record this weekend.
What do you think we should do? (Options being skip a week, have one episode with me, Jake, and Cloe, or crazy fun Plan C alternative of your own invention.)
I think I saw a porno movie that started this way.
I WILL KILL YOU
Okay, no, but seriously. If you guys decide to do a show with the three of you, pick something you love. Anything. Something obscure as hell, somebody everybody else hates, whatever. If you dig it, your enthusiasm will come through.
Also, there should be a singalong in there somewhere. And a case of mistaken identity.
Yeah, just wing it. Do a freeform discussion, comment on a tv episode or two, watch Megashark vs Giant Squid, whatever. This does answer my question as to how far ahead you guys are, and if you're recording two movies at a time do you record every week....
Maybe an episode or two of a tv show you guys like. Some Cowboy Bebop would be cool.

And a bit with a dog.
Speaking of dogs and unrelated tangents, this bothers me.
It's too rooted too deeply in marketing and too far from theme to be any sort of homage, so it feels more like a rip off.
In contrast, the Sucker Punch trailer has a couple of allusions to Brazil with Baby Doll fighting giant samurai with miniguns, naginata and shit. Both dreamy sequences, so it works.
If you need to do it Sunday, you Jake and Cloe would be an interesting combo. I am availble Monday night if you wanted to do it then.
Yeah, it's gonna be me, Jake, and Cloe.

I second the motion.
Or do Dune. I'd love to hear why Cloe allegedly likes it.
Or do Arnold's Raw Deal, as long as you realize that the actors are better than the movie, and keep an ear out for the director saying "don't over-act" in the warehouse scene after the actor says "now my time is worth as much as yours".
Oh yeah! Dune! Do Dune! Just last weekend I was thinking that I needed to concoct a flimsy pretense to watch that one again.
(Not that you asked me, Beldar, but my list includes the fucking awesome art direction, the cast's totally serious performances, and believe it or not the cheesy-but-somehow-great soundtrack. My enjoyment is only about ten percent ironic, honest.)
And don't forget the cast posing in the end credits. The coolest thing of all time (after bacon sandwiches). Not still images. They're... posing.
I didn't say my enjoyment was zero- percent ironic.
Fun trivia time: The little girl who plays Alia, Paul's little sister? This is how she growed up.
Jeffery's taste in women will forever not be trusted by me.
