Bat-stinkin'-tle-stinkin'-field-stinkin'-Earth.
I don't even have to be watching that dusty bent turd for it to piss me off. If I was Bruce Banner, this movie would be why I was angry all the time.
What? Of COURSE I own it! I have to show people that it's worse than they can possibly imagine! They'll say, "No, no, the worst movie ever is Prometheus/Spiderman 3/From Justin to Kelly!" and I'll say, "Siddown."

I was at one of the free Battlefield Earth screenings before it opened, thanks to tickets from the local comic book store. By the end, we were all laughing at it. I'd say it falls on the "watchable" side of horrible.

The original Sleepaway Camp is a classic, II and III aren't as great and very different from the original, but this one was the first time I had a physical negative reaction to a film. Started feeling sick and getting very angry throughout.
Highlander II.
There's a weird line with "Worst movie ever"
For example, I have a love for going through Netflix and finding horror movies with a half star rating.
There are some....is gems the word?
As for big budget films, there's only one film I ever walked out of and that was "Man In The Iron Mask" with Leonardo DiCaprio. Ugh.
More recently, I had a moment of masochism and sat through the entire film "That's My Boy". There were times when I was literally physically cringing.

easy....Ghostbusters
What, no mention of the 1998 Avengers w/Ralph Fiennes & Uma Thurman? Holy fuck, what a steaming pile that was.

I guess I should clarify my Eddie Murphy comment. Yes, I'm a fan of movies Murphy has been in like Beverly Hills Cop and Best Defense, however I personally cannot separate the Eddie Murphy I adored in Best Defense from the Eddie Murphy in Norbit or Pluto Nash. Sometimes my brain can't separate those details when I turn on my television. When I watch a Lakers game, I can't look at Kobe Bryant and bask in his great skill at playing the game of basketball, I only see a guy who I believe got away with alleged-rape twice due to witness tampering & intimidation. Not saying Eddie is a rapist, although you may disagree if you sat through all of Norbit. Unfortunately, I have trouble separating those facts, one day I'll be able to watch BHC the way I could before some of the aforementioned piiles of s*** he laid later in this career but unfortunately today isn't that day.
Just shows how subjective "worst" can be. Best Defense was the bomb (ha!) that snapped the wheels right off the Eddie Murphy "guaranteed hit" wagon. He had three megahits in a row, and then... that. Murphy's entire role was added to an existing movie just to try and salvage it (hence "Strategic Guest Star"), and Murphy himself later admitted the script was awful but the paycheck was amazing.
It was also another setback for Dudley Moore, whose track record was already in decline after being a huge box office star himself a few years earlier thanks to 10 and Arthur.
But on the bright side - even with this turkey on their resume, the writer and director got to make a big-budget flick just two years later... Howard the Duck.
It's pretty much forgotten now, but at the time it was common to reference "Best Defense" the way we would later reference Ishtar or Waterworld... or Howard the Duck.
btw, one of the two Arab guys in the tank with Murphy in that movie was played by Chris Mahar. Right around that time I worked on a stage play he produced and then house-sat for him while he was on vacation. Cool story bro.
I think I only saw it when it aired, but Eddie Murphy's guest host bit on Saturday Night Live told the whole Best Defense story. He was asked to come back onto SNL, and he said "No", because he was now a movie star. Then Best Defense happened, and he said "Yes" to SNL, because he now had no career. Then Beverly Hills Cop came out, and he was suddenly a star again... but had already committed to do the show, so there he was.
That episode also has Eddie Murphy ranting on the then new small GI Joe action figures, who are way too small to give Barbie the kind of loving the 12" Joe's could.
Oops, yeah, turns out Best Defense came out before BHC, earlier the same year.
So Murphy had two hits, then Best Defense, but then was back on top again with Beverly Hills Cop.

Sounds like Trey's rant on the GI Joe commentary
Murphy and I are less than a year apart in age. The man knows what a real GI Joe is, same as I do.

That explains why my dad likes him so much.
Also, my I still have original GI JOE equipment/figures/footlocker/ etc. from my dad. Your rant hit very close to home for me
Melancholia. I hate that film. I get exhausted just thinking about the effort it would take to properly explain why.
*edit - if anyone is reading this in 2021, I actually love it now lol*

Wasn't Melancholia consciously designed to make viewers experience clinical depression? Maybe it simply succeeded in your case

A friend once referred to this movie as "Lars Von Trier's Why Did I Get Married?"
Saw this terrible film called Gallowwalkers, starring Wesley Snipes and some other people, this past weekend. Someone spent money (and from the looks of it, quite a bit) to make this dull and incoherent "Horror Western", and it's utterly bonkers. This isn't 'so bad it's good', just bad.
The tragedy is that it actually looks great; the cinematography is pretty good (apart from a couple of shots of drunk cameraman). The acting is pretty much all over the place, and the writing is minimalist. So it's essentially an art house schlock B-movie which throws all manner of stuff to the wall and none of it really sticks.
Anyhow, this is my latest worst film I've ever seen. Makes me wonder if it was some guy's dream project, and all these disparate forces on the set resulted in this thematic and visual mess.
