I hadn't seen this one before DIF did it, and probably would not have otherwise. These are the ones I look forward to, the ones that get me seeing movies I haven't seen, and telling me why I should see them. Bravo.

I divide those into two categories: those I know I'd like but haven't gotten around to watching before DIF announced them, and those I know I'll only ever sit through with either DIF or Rifftrax playing along. Chinatown falls in the first category, and I watched it a month ago so I could see it fresh. Lots of good stuff falls into the second category though, like Eternal Sunshine or The Fountain. I know they're great, but for whatever reason they don't interest me.

A lot of parents of famous people in this movie; in addition to the ones pointed out in the commentary there's Crispin Glover's dad - Jake's partner without the glasses, and Laura Dern's mom - the fake Mrs Mulwray broad, pardon the language.
The sequel's worth watching. It isn't quite as good but it was obviously a labour of love for Nicholson and it's interesting to see how the daughter turned out (yes she's a bit screwed up) and it has a couple of great scenes. It has one of the best voice overs of all time ("Time changes things...", what a great voice Nicholson has) and a long scene when Jake says "Let me explain something to you" while walking around lighting a cigarette and fixing a drink. And the late '40s start of people suing the shit out of everyone.
Nice to see you doing this kind of movie, more please.

Finished listening. I'm disappointed nobody mentioned John Huston's best role, that of Gandalf in the animated The Hobbit

John Huston actually did a lot of VO work later in life. He's also the Narrator in The Black Cauldron.

I was amazed to read that he acted in movies from 1929-1987. That a hell of a stretch.

Oh, I'd like to self correct as well. I (correctly) stated that John Huston is a renowed film director. Where I scerwed up is in saying that some of his earlier films were with John Wayne. That was John FORD I was thinking about (Director of Stagecoach) and not John Huston. JH directed Treasure of Sierra Madre and Maltese Falcon, two of my all time favorite films. I can't believe I made such a silly mistake.

FYI. The documentary that was referenced during the commentary was actually called Girl 27. Keep up the great work gentlemen and thanks for giving me a closer look at this movie which I greatly under-appreciated when I first saw it.

Yeah, that took some digging, but it's in the enhancement. 
Speaking of which, Teague, you were going to post pics from the Film Noir Party; and if you've got that newspaper headline spinner Eddy VO'd that would be cool too.

Check ZAGARABONZO; when I cleaned up Cloe's Mac I moved all your stuff there. I still have the AEP for the newspaper bit if needs be. It's not the one you put together for the party, but one I put together for my reel (at about 53 seconds, hit up the Vimeo link in my signature).

I love, love, love this movie. Thanks for giving me another reason to revisit it.
Sculptor story is bullshit, by the way. And everybody gets Evelyn and Katherine mixed up at the end. But other than that I liked it a lot.

This is one of those films everyone should see, and I do really like it. Thanks for doing this commentary, gave me a chance to revisit.

Girl 27 is on Netflix Instant.
Edit: To back someone up, I also get John Hillerman & William Daniels (Mr. Feeney) mixed up as well. (Hillerman was on Magnum P.I.)
