Re: Spider-Man 2

At first, I didn't understand what Brian was getting at when he called the movie "objectively bad". Then I watched "The Host", and had similar feelings. I just don't see how anyone can disagree that it's a bad movie. I like some of the performances, but the plot is full of holes, absurd from start to finish.

I guess that's exactly how Brian saw Spider-Man 2. I'd never had that sort of experience with a film until I saw The Host. Maybe I need to rewatch Spider-Man 2. Brian, all is forgiven.

Re: Spider-Man 2

A movie is objectively bad when you and your friends hate it, subjectively bad when you're the only one who likes it smile

In my inexplicably unpublished Curious Dikshunary of English Wordes and Frazes, the entry for "objectively bad" cites Lifeforce as the defining example.

I'm convinced Tobe Hooper was stoned the whole time, and the movie was really directed by the cinematographer, the high-polish veteran Alan Hume.

Looks great. Isn't the least bit entertaining, full front nudity notwithstanding.

I've never seen it, who get's naked? 7 of the top 8 starring credits are guys. It's not Patrick Stewart, is it? *shiver*

This is amusing.

Just ignore the part where he admits to liking SPIDER-MAN 3.

Re: Spider-Man 2

watching Spidey 2 and listening to the commentary again.  I know you guys had problems with the dialogue being too on the nose, but that is sorta a comic book thing.  Especially Spider-man comics.  A lot of times you'll have Spidey swinging through the city and Spidey is talking to himself or thinking to himself

I will say that these movies are my guilty pleasure movies.  I know they miss the mark, but it's Spider-man.
