Ooh! I love that trope and some of the original Tumblr threads to that effect are some of my favorite things to come off that site. I'll have to check this out.

Aw, thanks man *blushes* Give me a topic and I probably will talk all day long. When I was first interning at my video job, someone wanted me to sit in as they got lighting and audio adjusted and he wanted me to talk. I was at a loss of what to start about until he prompted, "Tell me your thoughts on Episode I." And I went for like five minutes until he got everything in place XD

I finished the series, and am currently watching the cast/crew commentary on it. Oh my God, the extent to which they were flying by the seat of their pants with this.

That's very cool! I'm reminded of something that Teague did aeons ago, making a matte painting from stuff he found on Google Images.

One more from work. I made this last week by starting to write it, belatedly going to my boss with the idea which she approved with very little explanation and no script review, and it's probably the best video I've made because it's so universally applicable. The owner made me send it to the sales team and everyone loves it.

If you have any questions about EV charging, this is, dare I say, a must-watch.

Oh my God this is the best. I wasn't aware of this and am so happy you've brought it to my attention.

I've shared a few of my "Andrew the Video Guy" videos that I do for work in chat, but this one has gotten a ton of great feedback and is many people's favorites, including my boss and probably mine as well.

Make sure you watch through the second half. And of course over on Twitter I've got Faldor complaining about my pronunciation of car brands tongue

Well. I don't have a Spotify account, but if someone were to added Loaded by Primal Scream, I'd appreciate that. I don't know if it qualifies as a "summer song" but it's a great windows-down driving song, and such driving is my favorite part of summer, so there you go.

Moreover, I'll certainly be making a direct contribution. Thank you for the work you're doing, Alice.

I played Coffee Talk on stream over four different sessions, and it was a really great time. "Gameplay" is limited to just making drinks for the customers, though what you make them can affect how the story goes. Mostly, though, you listen to them, find out about the urban fantasy world outside of the coffee shop, and play witness to a tumultuous couple of weeks. All told it was about eight hours of gameplay and I absolutely recommend it if you've ever liked any sort of visual novel style of game. Playing it live was especially a treat because it meant I got to come up with voices for each of the characters, some of which I just adored.

If you don't think you'd get around to it but still want to check it out, I'm clipping the stream video and releasing it as a series of videos, one for each "night" of gameplay. The first one does a great job of showing what the game aims to do through the rest of its run.

Well written dude.

CW is really good, sometimes (especially, as you say, earlier) bad, and sometimes so very, very great. Rebels, meanwhile, keeps a more consistent quality level, and that level is "good, and able to see great from where it's standing".

I watched Resistance; season 2 is better because Kazuto isn't trying to be something he isn't, which is the sort of awkward thing used for humor through lots of the first season that I am uncomfortable watching. And with Oscar Isaac himself voicing Poe, you can tell he's having fun with this silly kid's show, which helps with the episodes he's in.

Okay. I wrote this years ago. YEARS ago. And am happy to have finally gotten it out there somehow.

So, uh. Have some "karaoke".

Lyrics Show
Obi-Wan has got it goin’ on
Obi-Wan has got it goin’ on
Obi-Wan has got it goin’ on
Obi-Wan has got it goin’ on

Obi could you come on down to Nabooooo (to Naboo)
I could use your help to settle a trade dispuuuuute (trade dispute)
And I know you’d be stuck on that TradeFed ship (TradeFed ship)
But do you think that you could give your master the sliiiiip (give him the slip)

And I know there’s a little boy on Tatooine
But there’s only one guy on that rock that’s just right for this queen

Obi-Wan has got it goin’ on
Had eyes on him since he was with Qui-Gon
Ani, can’t you see? You’re not the Jedi for me
I like his padawan, but
I’m in love with Obi-Wan

Obi-Wan has got it goin’ on
Obi-Wan has got it goin’ on

Obi-Wan, you remember when your padawan (padawan)
Jumped into my bed and had his lightsaber onnnnn (saber on)
I’ll tell you, he scared me with that sudden flare (sudden flare)
But I was reassured, ‘cause you just wanted to staaaaare (Master, stare)

And I’m waiting for the time that it’s just you and me
We can romp around and we’ll have fun all over Theed!

Obi-Wan has got it goin’ on
He’s all I want, and his saber is so long
Ani can’t you see? You’re not the Jedi for me
I like his padawan but
I’m in love with Obi-Wan

Obi-Wan has got it goin’ on
And I want him with just his Jedi robe on
Ani can’t you see? You’re not the Jedi for me
I like his padawan
I’m in love with (Obi-Wan, ohhhh)
I’m in love with (Obi-Wan, ohhhh)
Force be with you
(Ani can’t you see
You’re not the Jedi for me)
I like his padawan, but
I’m in love with Obi-Wan

Nah man, that rocked :'D I tried to see if I'd be comfortable doing so but after learning a song phonetically, seeing the lyrics written out screwed me up hard.

I mean, he'd done horror before, but it's always been with a punchline, or at least a really silly through-line. ("how to make jorts" also comes to mind.)

Brian David Gilbert is perhaps best known at this point for his Unraveled series on Polygon. He recently left Polygon and is sorta doing his own thing. When this one started, I expected something funny but creepy, like "Earn $20K EVERY MONTH by being your own boss". Instead I got... more than I bargained for, very uncomfortable, and so well done.

Jill Bearup analyzes fight scenes from a stage combat perspective. I first watched her Mask of Zorro one, but here's what might be my favorite one, contrasting two fight scenes in the movie Pacific Rim:

Wow, Steph and I watched that, then we watched his other stuff - at first I thought he did more serious reviews then did the Ever clear as a gag, but no, his whole channel is like that and it's great.

He did Fireball dirty, though tongue

Apparently, season one of Fett and season three of The Mandalorian will have the same storyline, just from two different points of view (how Star Wars is that?).

It's very CW DC, is what it is, and that has me instinctively a bit worried. We'll see, though.

My issue with Luke was that he looked too young. Pre-ROTJ (but post-ESB). His face should have been a bit rougher. And... yeah, it didn't really feel like a Luke thing, but that said, we know he went through some pretty heavy development through to TFA. Maybe he did get a bit into the "powerful Jedi master" role, and he played *that* part really well.

The rest of the episode was absolutely amazing though. Gideon had some great scheming going on, and it was gratifying when it finally collapsed when he saw the X-wing.

With Gideon gone - the main antagonist - and Grogu gone (for some time at least), I wonder where they'll go with season 3, but I'm excited to see it.

Agreed. They handled the ship really well. Hell, Boba in general they're doing a good job of using well but not stooping to fan-service. Looks good with newly painted armor, and his off-the-cuff, "Let's just say they might recognize my face," landed for me at the time. (In retrospect it'd make him a natural for the infiltration.)

When Slave I flew across screen and made its signature engine noise, I squeed a little, and noticed Steph looking at me. "Shut up," I said, fake-abashed, and she laughed and said that she really enjoyed seeing me get so excited over things like that.

Other thoughts:

Pedro Pascal did a great job of not emoting with his face, partially because Din isn't used to it, and partially because he was uncomfortable to the point of being in shock interacting with people without his helmet. It was tough to watch - you can see him giving up everything to make sure Grogu is safe.

And finally... "It's one load of ore, and you're all celebrating like the first transport is away."

I started Assassin's Creed II again for one of my weekly streams and am really enjoying it. I haven't played any of the new AC games, Steph played Odyssey and is in the middle of Valhalla but skipped Origins; I think I'll try all three pretty soon with the expectation of a different style of gameplay.

Grogu will Grow-gu on me, I'm sure (yes, please, groan at the pun, it was bad).

As someone who enjoyed Clone Wars, Ahsoka *worked* so well for me. I didn't have a problem with her sabers visually, but I did notice that they showed a lot of restraint in their sound design. Barely any idle hum, the swinging sounds were quite soft, and even when impacting the beskar spear the sound was more of a metallic clang than the familiar saber clashing sound.

Having a Jedi come in and make this be a tipping point of the season, if not the series - now we know who Grogu is, his backstory has been decently explained, and they've outright said that Din is a father figure and shown how much they both care for each other - is a good move, and for those up on those parts of the lore, having it be Ahsoka is great. She is a bit overly dramatic at times (standing on the courtyard wall behind Din - I said, "Dramatic much?" and Steph replied, "Well, remember her master *was* Anakin - also the effect of literally disappearing into the fog at the start which I *loved*), and her movements really matched her show presence as well, while still being more grounded in live-action.

Great episode, perhaps my favorite of the season. Though I am getting a little tired of the, go to a planet and be told which planet to go to next, format. Hopefully the temple planet next episode will stay there for a couple episodes.
