Trowa are those for disappointing sequels?

Which I hope not because if you were disappointed/surprised by the fact the sequels to any of those sucked (Except Troopers, maybe) you may need a checkup dude.

And if so, wheres our next question!!

Really? You try telling that to the millions of horrified children JK Rowling scarred for life.

Although to be honest beside the fact that they are both old wizards I fail to see a resemblance. Now if Dumbledore had managed somehow to come back to life in the next book and save the day...maybe you might have a case, but otherwise dude, you got nothin.

Alright I gotta say this, but as a Harry potter fan i gotta stick up for this...as petty and insignificant as it may be.

Teague brought up the whole thing that JK Rowling was like "I'm gonna kill off one of the mains" and yadda yadda. Then Eddie comes in with that she killed off one of the Weasleys, I would like to submit a formal complaint that the giant uproar was about Dumbledores death in the 6th book not the million or so deaths in the 7th.

Thank you that is all.

Movie Trailers...I'm not anywhere near of a trailer aficionado to know this out of all the trailers on there, but I can tell out of what I have seen. So basically forgive me if I'm missing a few good ones.

1)Inception

2)Super 8 - What can I say? JJ knows Viral
http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/paramount/super8/

3)Toy Story 3 -Cause hey, why not
http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/disney/toystory3/

4)The Last Airbender -
http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/para … airbender/

5)Jonah Hex - Looks surprisingly better than I had originally thought

I'll leave this one open for someone to correct me if they so choose, and if you feel brave...

Top 5 Sequels (And no, trilogys don't count. I want honest to god "the first movie can stand on it's own, and then there's the sequel").

Director: Uwe Boll...

Thats it, I'M OUT!

..loooking further down the page...

They got Dave Foley in this thing??!?

I am currently weighing my love for Dave Foley against my hatred of Uwe Boll...it's gonna be close.

Oh and yah...never got into The Wild Things...I can respect Spike Jonze for what he tried to do, but it was a try and a fail in my books.

Everyone liked it a lot, and most of us loved it.  There was only 1 person in our group who was slightly less then love.

I'm guessing Dorkman? tongue

And Teague why did you only see half of it?

And for the record, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I would concur. Surprisingly better than I had anticipated.

Jeffery: To whom are you referring and to what exactly are you replying? I haven't heard anyone complaining in at three pages.

On the other hand, freaking love the hell out of Sunshine, and I haven't seen Constantine lately enough to call it. And I had no freakin clue it was based off a comic...

Hurrah! We have been heard...although I guess I'm gonna have to rewatch Constantine here pretty soon.

I'd agree, this one did sort of seem to be the missing the classic DiF, "Okay, so we hate it, but others kinda like it, why the fuck?"

There did seem to be an overwhelming amount of "Oh god no! What the fuck? Uuuuuugh." Going on. Which is my perhaps, unique way of basically restating what everyone else has already said.

I'm completely with Greg on this one.

Right, Teague you insane, the score is fukin amazing.

And I think we can all agree that if Stephen Lang had this on hand, we would have all been better off.

WHOOOOAH!

Now thats over with.

I think it was Brian (Maybe Dorkman?) at the beginning that basically summed my Avatar experience up. It went something along the lines of, thier are people that think movies are about the experience and then there are those that need a story in order to qualify a movie. I am in  the former group, mostly, although in truth I'm probably closer to the middle. Whatever.
I've actually begun to notice this more and more in myself as of late, that I am willing to forgive a movie for a weak plot if I can enjoy and just live in the experience. Which I don't think anyone would argue this doesn't.

Would I have liked a super amazing plot? Hell yes! Do I not like the movie because I didn't get one, hell no.

Anyways, I agree with a lot of what you guys said and you kinda pulled a prequels on me, cause by the end I was sorta pinning for the movie we didn't get, but you know, thats how it goes.

Although I had to laugh at Teague pointing out the idea of Avatar being a Na'Vi propaganda. As that is essentially the idea I came up with basically in my second watching and have been talking to people about. (I coulda sworn I brought it up on here once or twice... )

And the other idea I was toying with was that Avatar is essentially a giant fairy tale. Now just listen for a sec. We have villiany villians who are villians because they are villians (Quartrich) We have the damsel in distress (Neytiri) And we have the Hero who rides in to save the day (Jake). Obviously this is an immense oversimplification, but it works. I know I am giving waaaay to much credit to Cameron on this, but fuck it, it's Cameron. What if this thing was set up like Starship Troopers, as this whole higher plane of thinking, fairy tale thing, that just no one got (Ala Troopers). Whatever, discuss.

Otherwise I still fukin love the shit outta this movie. And if the sequel is actually gonna be the whole underwater/ocean thing, I will shit my pants. (For those of you who don't know my final project for this year involves a 300ft long ocean trench dwelling whale. Soooo yah.)

As much as I do love Reavers, I am kinda dissappointed in Joss for being like "you want Reavers, Well BAM there's your Reavers", in Serenity. They should have stayed this ominous unseen foe.

But then that's just me.

I suppose. Either way, this is the cheapest one I've been able to find. Typically it's like $150 just for 1TB or something ridiculous like that.

Just finished classes for this term on Tues...slept til 5pm today (From 9am hmm ) and now have to go blow $170 on a 2TB external hard drive cause all three of my other ones are basically full. And while I'm there I might pick up Avatar.

Happy early B-Day Shadow!

Lol, I know. I'm just sayin, it is a student project, and we were basically learning most of it as we went. So don't expect a gem of perfection.

3,800

(11 replies, posted in Creations)

Alright, granted.

We basically had everything that could go wrong with this kind project, go wrong. Basically starting with the fact that the only green screen we had access to was like 8 foot across. Our shoot date got pushed back by like 2 weeks. And then our camera decided to throw a ton of gain onto everything, and we didn't catch it. We lost like half our 3D models and keying was insanely difficult and the list goes on.

So I'm not excuses but, it was a learning process, and we did probably the hardest thing we could in an insanely short time. (Keep in mind we did this entire thing while also having a full course load the entire 2 months.)

So basically I'm just glad we got a completed, comprehensible thing at the end of it.
