Re: What films are you looking forward to in 2013?

After the year that was, not looking forward to much. I'm in a 'wait and see' holding pattern. If there's any >90% rotten tomatoes scorers on at the local IMAX, and where the trailer also looks intriguing, and I can get a good seat, and I'm in the mood, and there's nothing else to do, then I'll toddle over and check it out.  big_smile

Re: What films are you looking forward to in 2013?

I eagerly await Star Trek Into Darkness... and I sincerely hope the distributors won't screw my country this time. Some Star Trek movies weren't screened in Polish theaters at all, others were limited to a few cities.

Strangely enough, this prejudice applies only to Star Trek (other big sci-fi movies almost always get a country-wide theatrical release in Poland).

Alright, who's gonna be the mensch who goes through and makes trailer-or-IMDb links out of all these movie titles?

Re: What films are you looking forward to in 2013?

Lots of '2''s there - even the ones without '2' in the title e.g. 300, The Hobbit, Star Trek, GI Joe, Sin City, Hunger Games.

So 2014/5 will have lots of '3's

Rebooted series could be renumbered as Series 2, episode 'x', to make it all very clear to someone in the far future what movies belong to what reboot. But that still doesn't sort out the spin-offs, and 'sorta' prequels/sequels.

Re: What films are you looking forward to in 2013?

I am really looking forward to Now You See Me, Carrie, and Side Effects. I'll see Catching Fire - despite my displeasure with the casting - and Percy Jackson but I wouldn't say I'm excited about them. I didn't even know Sin City 2 had gone into production. I'm going to have to process that news.

Am I the only one who was pretty sold on The Host trailer before seeing the "based on a novel by Stephanie Meyer" credit? Because it looks kind of compelling.

Re: What films are you looking forward to in 2013?

I knew it was Meyer and the trailer still kinda sold me. Andrew Niccol is good and they make a pretty big point of saying he wrote the script, so there's a good chance he took what was good about the story and rinsed off the Meyer.

Re: What films are you looking forward to in 2013?

I just learned through this thread that there is a new Sin City coming. I am very happy right now.

I'm looking very much forward to The World's End. I love Edgar Wright's directing style, I love Pegg, Frost, Freeman and all the others. We're only missing Nighy, Moran and Bailey, damn. Also, Rosamund Pike? Oh yeah.

As I loved The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, I eagerly await The Hobbit: the Desolation of Smaug too.

Kick-Ass was absolutely awesome, so I'll add Kick-Ass 2 to this list.

I want to see Star Trek Into Darkness. I really liked the first film, even though I don't remember it that well, and I want to get to know J. J. Abrams more.

I'm also curious about A Good Day to Die Hard, but only because I hope it won't be the over-the-top fest Live Free or Die Hard was (can't really say I believe it right now).

Iron Man 3 too. I'm not that excited about it, but I'm still interested.

Less "eagerly looking forward to", but still in a "why not" state of mind: Oz The Great and Powerful ; I don't know the first thing about The Wizard of Oz, but the trailed made me excited - also, James Franco is a great actor I'll always remember from Freaks and Geeks, and there's even the voice of Zach Braff. Warm Bodies looks interesting, and I can never resist zombies.

I don't know much about the others from the previously mentioned list, so I guess I'll see as they get close to releasing.

We can already strike off A Good Day to Die Hard from the above lists. Next dud?

Re: What films are you looking forward to in 2013?

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Ender's Game. (Release date: Nov. 1st, supposedly) It has Harrison Ford, Hailee Steinfeld, Ben Kingsley, aliens, war games in zero-G and the book was excellent! Definitely my number 1 anticipated movie of the year.

That, The Great Gatsby, Hunger Games 2, jOBS and Lone Ranger round out my top five.

Re: What films are you looking forward to in 2013?

Added The Great Gatsby and Ender's Game to the list.

Re: What films are you looking forward to in 2013?

I'm actually most excited about Gravity, because it sounds like the movie I've been waiting decades to see.

Other than that, I'm expecting to like and enjoy watching Iron Man 3, Thor 2, Wolverine 2 and GI Joe 2 with my mates.

Star Trek XII and Man of Steel I'm cautiously optimistic about (read: I don't want to get my hopes up too high but I really hope they're good if not better than the previous attempts).

Re: What films are you looking forward to in 2013?

Just read another article regarding films in 2013 so it reminded me of several of the films that I want to see:
Thor 2
Wolverine 2
Star Trek: Into Darkness
After Earth
Epic
Gravity
Pacific Rim

No particular order just because I am not sure when all are released other than Star Trek.

God loves you!

For American Wright/Pegg/Frost fans, The World's End has been brought forward from October to August 23rd. You're now getting it 9 days after the UK instead of 2 months smile
