This was awesome.
I want to play.
This is easily the dopest shit you will see all day.
And I want to play too...
I'll put you all on a gimble set up and we'll make a movie...

Yup, I'm going to have to make all my friends get this.
I'm going to have to make friends to get this.
Apparently it can be played over the net.
<edit>A quick test of the downloadable demo indicates the game is happy running multiple instances. Someone could run the server, and also crew one of the positions.</edit>

You didn't even offer surrender terms! YOU MONSTERS!
This really reminds me of the first, and only time I played Left 4 Dead. All 4 of us had never played it before, and we rigged up our laptops together in a room, had headsets, and hit play. The next 6-7 hours were probably the coolest 6-7 hours of gameplay we've ever had. Games that CAN be played online, isn't necessarily BETTER online. In my experience, local multiplayer is where it's at.

I agree. I have some kind of community of gamer friends on the Internet. We often play games online but we're all on Mumble so we can talk (and not only while gaming). Once a year or so, we all get together in one place with our computers and play for a few days. We did that last January and had an amazing game of Left 4 Dead 2. But the rest of the time, being able to talk to each other while gaming is already great.
We could probably do the same thing, but everybody would need to have a microphone.
Find a mac compatible game and I'm probably down, but, I prefer the company of people, not just voices
Well, we could all book flights to Norway to play a video game...
I'm amused by the name. The Artemis Project was a for profit attempt to do a quick series of moon missions. I went to one of their panels at my first Science Fiction Worldcon in the late 90's. Very impressive artist renderings! Last i heard of them, at the Denver Worldcon, it was one guy promoting "open source" space tech.
Now on fireproof's shopping list:
1. Artemis Project
2. Headset with microphone
*my wife will think I'm crazy*
I literally fell asleep several times playing this last night.
Sigh...filing under "more cool shit you're missing out on because LA made you her bitch..."
Er, um, sorry about that, I meant... Wow, very cool!
I thought I had posted this when I released it... recently I've been able to get some people over and play Artemis, finally. Since I do Let's Plays anyway, I made something of a production out of it.
I'm disappointed it took me so long to be able to start playing this game but so glad I'm finally able to. I've got a good crew and can't wait to get back into it when we're all back from our respective holiday breaks.
