Re: Release, Record: 11/9

Waterworld is one of those absence makes the heart grow fonder films. I always think I like it but when I watch it I remember why it wasn't the great success. It'll be interesting to see whether everyone agrees on what those flaws are (hint: Dennis Hopper!).

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

I think I'm going to give this weeks recording a pass, crazy long weeks have left me really wanting to enjoy the one day off I'm getting.
That and I like the idea of being able to enjoy them for the first time when they go live, adding more to listen to during the week at work.

Have a blast everyone.

If my net connection is as good this week as it was last week, I'll be there. It'll be 9pm for me so I shouldn't have anything else to do. Just pissed at myself for selling Scott Pilgrim last week, I could have watched along live big_smile

What podcast is getting released on Monday? I hope it's Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs because, when you were going to do the recording, I dowlnoaded it as I had never seen it. I have since bought the Blu Ray because it is a fricking awesome film but still haven't listened to your commentary for it. I can now listen to it along with the film big_smile

By the way, Google posters for Pitch Black. There's like seventy designs. They really tried. "This! No, this! No, this!"

I loved Pitch Black when I saw it in the cinema, COR, not so much.

It has been a few years since I saw Pitch Black, though. It may well be shite.

Pitch black - not shite. Are you playing the directors cut?

Looks like a great double bill this weekend. I'm a fan of both movies; interested in what you guys will say about them.

You're recording on Easter Sunday? Heathens. Family-less heathens.

I will be worshiping the Easter Bunny with my family like decent folk.

Might be around, may not, depending on when my family leaves. If it's still going by then, I'll definitely be there!

Wow, I didn't know there was a Director's Cut for Pitch Black.  I'll have to find a copy.  I do have the Director's Cut of Chronicles of Riddick, which I would highly recommend.  It adds a bit more to Riddick's backstory and origin, which does play an important part in the film.

I'll be at my sister's visiting, so regrettably I will be unable to attend the live show, but I look forward to hearing what everyone has to say.

Huh.  Based on that description, that's the cut I just watched a couple months ago.  Didn't even know it was the "extended" version.

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

Is Chronicles of Riddick the biggest "what the fuck were they thinking" movie ever?

Thumbs up Thumbs down

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

It was certainly a change from the first film. Sure, if they kept the series as Riddick up against a horror movie creature, it would probably get boring, but the sequel was such a depature. Very strange choices were made.

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

Any hints of which version each film will be presented in for the recordings today?
Unrated/ Director's/extended cut for either pitch black or chronicles??

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

I think Director's Cut for both.
