I don't have very high hopes for movies this summer.

I've been trying to get this crowd to do Predator and/or Lethal Weapon since the day we started this monkeyfarm.

Along with Die Hard, that's the damn Holy Trinity of '80's action and still - no luck.  Kids today.  Meh.

Wait.  With all due respect I am bummed if you decided definitively on The Back Row.  Again, this is an opportunity to make a first impression here.  I you asked me what I thought a podcast called The Back Row was about, I would assume exercise or racism.

FireFighter, it's no wonder you've not heard about it. I've been actively following it and all I knew about it until the trailer got released was that it had Matt Damon in a weird suit and was directed by Blomkamp. They've been especially secretive about this film, and only in the last couple of weeks has any real info or photos started to trickle out about it.

It does look pretty good, too.

You could ask the question about any show. Everyone is different and we all like different things. There won't be a single TV show ever made that every single person will agree on, same with movies.  It doesn't matter if someone likes a show that you don't like and vice versa, it is just the way it goes.

I use TGA usually, although PNG seems to do the job as well with smaller file size.   

Whichever, the point is to use a format with as little compression as possible.   Any video version you spawn from those will add its own flavor of compression, but at least you're always starting with the best possible source resolution.

Typically I'll use tga's for most stuff, although I find myself use png more lately, but I haven't been doing a lot of vfx stuff lately.

All audio I use in projects goes in as aiff.

What ever you use, never ever use mp3.

.mp3 in AE for example gives this clicking track when rendered.

Exactly -  the same argument applies there.   mp3 is designed for small file sizes for internet streaming and so on, but brings with it a lot of compression artifacts that can cause trouble if you try to export the file again.

.wav or .aiff at maximum quality are my usual choice.

If you're still hung up on what he thinks is good or bad you're missing the whole point.

I'm certainly not on team White over here, I'm not throwing him under the bus... honestly, as of right now, I find him to be an interesting case.
