They seem pretty similar to me, aside from the bits I mentioned. I'm sure there are book purists out there who despise both adaptations, regardless of how good both of them are.

I'm not a book purist by any means and I haven't seen the swedish version yet, but Finchers...is just, not, good. Not good at all. He changed to much and none of the changes made anything better, in most cases it actually hindered what the story is trying to do, and then then the film decided to completely shift the theme and tone in a direction that makes no gaddamn sense from a storytelling and emotional standpoint.

See my previous posts for specifics (page 5).

I can't afford it right now, but I've heard a lot of really good things about it, and it's a pretty damn cool concept.

And thus we have the Conspiracy theory!

The idea of people deriving joy from imagining depth where there is none is not a new thing. It's just we're not the kind of people that stand around water coolers going, oh wow, your right man, that's so cool. We go, fuck you and your bullshit ideas.

I believe this is called talking down to your audience or something to that effect.

I don't like Lindeloff.

I have always been, and will forever be a huge fan of beatboxing flautists.

And although he doesn't really use it to much in this vid, Greg Pattillo is an amazing beatbox flautist. But this rendition is just awesome.

Somebody please tell me we haven't collectively reached a Sheldon level of social ability. I know we may not be amazing, but seriously? SERIOUSLY!? Is this what we're turning into?

EDIT: I am in complete agreement with Zarban.

Obviously it has issues, just because of what it is, but I think you're aware of this. Solid work dude.

Also, the documentary is a joke right?

According to the website it's a purposeful manipulation of archival footage and interviews to convince viewers that the moon landing was a hoax, in order, and I quote, "to inform and entertain the viewer, but also to shake him up - make him aware that one should always view television with a critical eye."

So there's that...I guess.

I've been meaning to get a start on reading some Lovecraft for a while now, and now that I'm starting to get to the point that I'm gonna need something new to read, I figure now's a good a time as any. But I have NO FREAKIN CLUE where to start.

I've tried finding out on my own, but I always end up stuck in a perpetual wikipedia loop bouncing between different mythos authors and some stuff about Lovecraft, but never anything about where to actually START to get into the mythos.

So, yeah. Where the heck do I start this?

When you click on Pan's Labyrinth in the master list it brings up Master and commander instead.

I'll report back if I find any more errant links.

EDIT: Actually every single link in the list pre-intermission is shifted by one. And anything after the intermissions start either links to a random commentary or simply pulls up a page with the text but no images, that also cause the rest of the page to freeze.

Also, trying to scroll through the menu basically breaks it, and I end up either snapping back to where I was, or the entire thing just turns black.

EDIT to the Edit: And now it's fixed. Well wtf. Should not have taken another hit, man. Holy crap.

The one thing I remember from the live commentary the needs to be corrected. That kid is TOTALLY not young Kirk. Whatever you guys were on, I want some. That kid was however one of Changs guards in season 3 of community (The one Britta "seduces"). And yes, his teeth, are actually like that.

Secifically, his name is Ryan Lee
