Tomahawk, if you wanna put it together, be my guest. I've been sidelined by the following:

1. Car accident literally within days of getting the files
2. Computer refusing to work with this project
3. A horrendous chest cold for the past two weeks
4. Moving to a new campus with new computers - with a different OS than the old campus, thus possibly causing problems when transferring shit back to Teague

It's been one clusterfuck of fuckups. On the bright side, at least all the files you need are in one place now on the FTP server. If you wanna take over, go right ahead, I haven't put a dent in the thing.

Doty for President because he doesn't strongly lean one way or the other politically. Anthony Alba for VP because he would be a sarcastic jackass during debates and press conferences.

What disappointed you more, the Matrix sequels or the Star Wars prequels?

I wasn't overly stoked for this movie. I wanted to see it, but I wasn't super excited for it by any means.  I went to a late Thursday showing two weeks after it opened in September.  When I got to the cinema, it turned out the projector for that particular theater was on the fritz. However, I couldn't see it the next day because they were pulling the movie. I ended up driving 45 minutes to another town to catch a showing that night before Dredd was gone from theaters completely. I had to settle for 3D but if it meant 3D or not seeing the film at all, the choice was easy to make. Anyway, my buddy and I buy tickets, head into the theater... and we were the only two people in there for the entire showing - truly driving home just how hard it bombed across the country.

A broken projector, a trip across the interstate, an increased ticket cost and a theater to myself. That's how I saw Dredd. It was worth it.

But no issues with the guy who nearly got in a fist fight with George Clooney and screamed "cunt" at Lily Tomlin?

I FINALLY get my fucking car back tomorrow. Then, I will be able to travel to a place with better computers for editing. Sorry for the delay. Blame shitty weather and the son of a bitch who decided to brake completely while merging and cause me to swerve out of the way into a guardrail to avoid a collision.

"Some advice...when you ask professionals for free work on one social media platform, don't shot talk them on another."

Gotta change that to shit or else I think this is a gun conspiracy.

Hilariously tragic story though.

GOOD NEWS: I'm done with college for the semester and focus all my time on getting this shit done.

BAD NEWS: My computer is being a stubborn dick while editing, which means I probably need to edit elsewhere, something that I won't be able to do for another week due to my car in the shop.

It will get done though, I promise.

It's less than 720p so don't worry about it. I should have a very very rough first minute to show by the end of the week.

~15 gigs total footage, about 5 of which are my takes, only about 2 of which are any good.

I also have iJim's exit from the car in HD 60i at a bout 1 gig, but I could trim the 6 minute file down quite a bit.

I could also downconvert and/or process it into reasonably-sized clips.

Convert that shit to .wmv or something small. As long as you don't kill your quality completely, you should be fine. The final product isn't going to be bigger than the YouTube player.

I've gone through every check and double check before I begin editing this beast. I only have a few things to clear up before I actually start.

1. DK, Drew, Seth and Spork all have actions or dialogue listed in the script, but there is no footage for any of these people up on the server. Teague is working on the Seth situation. As for the rest of them, were they replaced at some point by other users? If so, who are they and where can I get their footage? If not, where is the footage for these people?

2. Gregory's footage is broken. The zip folder reads as corrupted and cannot be repaired with WinRAR. I suspect this is due to the massive 2 GB size of the contents. However, it's possible that the problem is exclusive to my computer. To fix it, regardless of the scenario, I need Gregory to re-upload his files in a smaller size. Alternatively, another user could download the folder, shrink the size and re-upload it if Gregory is AWOL.

3. I cannot be everywhere on the internet at once. This is where I need you. There are three things you can do to help:

  • If you know the answers to the above questions, post them immediately.

  • If you see any of the aforementioned people on the forum chat, the live stream, instant messaging or whatever you use to communicate, direct them to this thread immediately.

  • If you have any advice or ideas on how to expedite the process, post it immediately.

Nobody is at fault but the project has sat around unfinished for far too long. It's time to get this shit done.

I've been wanting to a hear a commentary for this for a long long time. Event Horizon contains possibly my favorite set-up in the history of cinema. There's a spaceship, it was experimenting with some sort of new warp engine and it's been missing for seven years. It has suddenly reappeared and we're going to go check it out. It's the perfect set-up for my favorite subgenre of film: "we're in space and we're fucked" sci-fi. Other movies include Alien, Moon, 2001, and The Black Hole.

Sadly, as much as I love the set up, I find the direction and the third act to be very lackluster to say the least. Once Sam Neill starts going around killing people, it just becomes way too cheesy for my liking. Also, that moment early on where he screams after seeing his dead wife in a dream:

There is no fucking way that was the best take.

I waiting for a "He died three weeks later" titlecard at the end. Great shit though.

What did you use to capture the audio? It sounds perfectly crisp and clear.

The 13 minutes are beyond fucking horrendous if you haven't seen them. I can only imagine the full 2 hour movie is even worse. Seriously, some of the worst production values you'll ever see. There is no way this thing cost 5 million.

SPOILER Show

Please come back in March or April. I can't wait until July.

Citizen Kane?

Okay, maybe not - but based on that description, now I want to know wtf that was too.

After narrowing down the plot keyword to just "kidnapping", I finally found the fucking thing.

Yeah, David Hasseholff, Cheech Marin and John Rhys-Davies and some how none of their faces stuck with me. I had no idea it was a Three Musketeers update.

UPDATE: It's on Netflix Instant.
